Currently landing your plane is an nightmare. The landing gear breaks from the slightest impact and your plane explodes all the time for no reason.

slowing down the aircraft is no easy task either, if I switch to landing flaps, my flaps get damaged from speed which is essentially death with the current awful controls.

If you land in the water you can use it as a boat! Just FYI. Fw-190 gets me all the girls at the beach 
Set engine output to 0
Turn off the engine (I forgot what the default button is)
Slow down by maneuvering
Open all flaps
Slowing down after landing by wheel braking
Once you become proficient you will be able to land most aircraft in practice mode and admire them from the ground
Here is my go to method:
Obviously first line up the landing.
Need to not go faster than 300 TAS, preferably 250.
Throttle should be at 33 at highest.
Go down to 25 altitude.
Coast into the landing, and on touchdown tilt forward and you should land with no issues. At worst the prop will break but it will still count the landing. .
This is my method to landing
landing on carriers it doesn’t matter what damage is done - you instantly repair.
But as others have noted - it is a matter of skill which requires practice
I know how to land but the planes are just too fragile. I tried to land on the field in seelow with ju 188 but i exploded because i made contact with a wooden fence
