Probably something like a third of the time, while I’m looking at the game map or trying to decide where to spawn, or just waiting a few seconds for the spawn I want to open it up, the friggin game drops me somewhere, typically in the origin spawn point, 8 billion miles from the front, and not even the unit I want to play.
This is irritating and absolutely unnecessary. Let people select their unit and the spawn point and then click enter the game.

(*May be an exaggeration, but certainly every game I’ve ever played. I don’t recall EVER spawning in random places with units I had no intention of pulling out at that time in any other game, ever.)

I can relate this happens to me from time to time and just like you said it’s always the farthest spawn from the action.

You can select a squad that is dead at that moment and wait till it is ready then you can spawn. It’s not the best system though.

FWIW, this is still happening to me, and it still drives me crazy.
I keep forgetting to select a unit I can’t load in. But it shouldn’t require such a thing. If anything, the game should default, if it’s bound and determined to make you fight immediately, then by golly, put you in the closest spawn point, not the one in the back!
And I’m not sure why, but it seems to happen to the Americans the most. Again, no clue why this is. But I’ve been playing random matches exclusively now since they came out, and it happens almost EVERY time I respawn for the Americans, and once in a while for Germans, and almost never for the rest of them.
No clue why this is. Not sure if it’s a factor or not, but the only thing I know that’s different with my American team is that I actually use all 11 squad slots, and I don’t for the rest of them. (If any Dev happens to read this, maybe that’s a thing. Again, just spitballing here.)
