Title says it all.
I’ve noticed people building rally points outside of the map close enough to wear you can run in or heal through the out-of-bounds damage without dying.
I think this should be removed in it’s entirety.

I agree
But what do you think about removing them entirely?
Rally points brought nothing but mess when they came out
No, unless we get APCs as mobile spawnpoints.
They are quite useful, although need some UI rework.
I’ve noticed people who spawn in on rallies have spawn protection even when they are placed right next to an objective. If rallies stay I think they should lose spawn protection if they are too far forward of friendly territory. I’ve counter attacked enemies and accidentally ran into their rally spawn at the min distance to place from the objective and found an invulnerable squad waiting for my squad.
IMO, if you place a rally literally in the adjacent house to the objective (within grenade range) you shouldn’t receive any spawn protection. I’ve done it myself and I felt kinda scummy lul.
Personally, I’m in favor of slowing down the current frenetic pace a bit and the meta of simply throwing down a rally and then human waving an objective is pretty simple and not very compelling. Not much maneuvering goes on once the rallies are down, it’s just a meat grinder.
I mean
Like yeah, could work
But aren’t rally points the BIGGEST issue for the meatgrinder
Placing them, you basically make the map smaller…
Wait, are you against them or not?
sorry Bad English
no worries,
I am against their current implementation. They need to be restricted and spawn protection removed, reworked or potentially removed.
Humans are always going to take the path of least resistance and rally hugging an objective requires the least amount of effort and about zero mental capacity.
And yes, it’s a massive contributor to the frenetic, mindless non-stop meat grinder instead of small unit tactics.
Like you were kind of saying with anti-tank implementation, it being too simple. I think the rally system helps simplify the attack and defense more than it should.
No, it’s map design that causes meat grinder.
True, but at least you don’t get bombed by planes (it’s for different discussion)
Exactly my point,
I don’t know how long are you here on these forums but the “small map issue” is one of the biggest problems
Maybe the issue isn’t in maps, maybe it’s the spawns
Imo I would make spawns harder to build, remove the spawn protection and not allow them to be built within 100m away from the objective
Or just throw them out of the game
One of the reasons
But what do you think about my idea (read the answer above) ?
So mobile spawns can’t make you spawn next to the objective
I agree on removing spawn protection (although I’ve heard it’s already removed, I don’t know if thats true) and on proximity limit. I guess sth similar to sunderer in planetside (in terms of distance limit) would work.
Cool than
So rally point can be used to attack from different side and not to attack close to spawn thus lowering the meat grinder
But we still need far better maps to completely destroy the meatgrinder
I’m thinking to bring back my bigger maps suggestion
yep, one of the main issue still present now days.
let’s hope for a change any time soon.
I can verify it’s not removed. You’ll get the hit marker and effect of shooting them but they will be invulnerable. The proximity, like I said, is within hand grenade range.
If I remember I’ll try to spawn hug a point and take a picture of just how close you can get it.
Nope
Yesterday I used the spawn protection to manipulate the enemy team, pretty disgusting
I’m ashamed of myself
The largest issue is that spawn protection lasts SO LONG.
Since rally points are being discussed here, I’m gonna say that they should despawn in Invasion/Assault after each phase. So that people don’t accidentally spawn behind their new default spawn, and so that it’s not wasting engineer resources.
HLL all engineer stuff gets destroyed as the zones of control shift IIRC
Perhaps - but I know a while back I spawned and then the zone shifted and I was out of bounds and died with no chance to get into play first
