Make invasion caps into take and hold objectives for every side regardless of faction performance

Through many questionable balance patches decreasing the cap times for some factions the mode went from taking and holding a position for some time to just taking the position.
This is very obvious in normandy (but not limited to ) the allies need only like 20 seconds and the point is just gone.

In practice this means the enemy does not even get a chance launch a second attack to retake a point if they died defending the point waiting for the rally points and walking back to the objective wont let them be there in time or only for the last 10% of the cap and you simply dont have time to thin the numbers and retake it again.

Here the objective of holding the point is very trivial as you basicly automatically complete that part aswell if you were able to take the point and the enemy dont really get to counter attack at all.

But the othere side has to keep holding the site for longer and has to defend against and second and if fighting is hard a 3rd or 4th wave of defender.

On anothere note the capping power of a single depleted squad is just pityfull and lead me to sit on the enemy point for 2 or 3 minuts uncontested without capping it as my team did not manage (or want) to move up for extra capping power.

I know that this is a feature the devs try to use to “balance” the game with but all it does is hide the real problems with balance and make the campaign apear to be balanced on paper but to often it leads to a bad game experience.
Sometimes you dont even notice the enemy capping your point when you are busy hunting for enemy tanks or rally point before the enemy is done capping or if you do there is nothing you can do to stop it as you just cant get there in time making these situation not really interactive and feel like you were cheated out of the cap and with it even the match entirely.

The soul crushing effect of the uninteractive instant cap only is beeing made worse if your team is doing good and actually bleeds alot of tickets from the enemy at the first point but the dynamic ticket system kicks in and negates most of your good work with increased ticket replenishment ontop of it.

Once the merge is done you can still adjust the tickets and BR of certain gear to hopefully keep it somewhat balanced but instant caps kinda burned me out of carring for them entirely in normandy.
Given how the merge might shake up the meta I hope that ALL cap times will be reset and never reduced to the point that the holding part of the objectives losses its relevance again.

If someone has any creative idea on how to balance a match in progress to progress feel free to post it aswell as static faction nerfs might not be enough to ensure balance across the board.

Normandy Axis got nerfed for Tiger and rocket spam so now their only option to win is to spam rockets and Tigers.
cap time and reinforcements arent enough to balance the player base issue, more numerous better equipped and more experienced players will always stomp the other side.
Be it Berlin, Moscow, Stalingrad or Normandy.

the real problem with cap time and reinforcement nerf is that it dooms the nerfed side if both teams were about equal.

Your post is really well written however i think bleeding the enemy top down on first stage isn’t exactly much fun, the rest of map remains unused, battle become really static and boring.

if you manage to bleed enemy well then congrats, once they take the cap you can repeat that on another point. If you really can bleed enemy well you will win the game.

It sucks that you don’t get to counter attack, i know, all you can do is to prepare another defence line which is actually fine for me, it keeps the flow of the game, so that you’re not fighting over same point the whole match.

short cap time usually means that cap itself is considered hard to cap by attackers, so you’ve basically failed to defend objective once you let attackers sneak on it.

maybe there should be dynamic cap time, based on gear and players’ skill to make it more fair.
