Exactly as it says on the title, one thing that always baffled me was that the only way to know a rally you come across (Unless there’s soldiers popping out of it right in front of you) belongs to your or the hostile team is to swap to an engineer and select rally point. All I’d want is to be able to see where allied rally points on the minimap for all soldiers, takes a lot of guesswork out of knocking out rallies (Yes I am aware that each nation’s rally looks a little different, but I’d sooner have it known at a glance than having to inspect them closely for a few seconds)
during CBT and CAT this was a thing.
until it got removed.
reasons?
here:
It’s suprising how many things got removed when OBT started.
i’m sure there are reasons behind it.
although, not available to us.
The Morse code noise its only present on enemy ones.
Either way, friendly ones could apear on the minimap, like current ammo boxes do.
Having to switch to the hammer just to see if no one placed a spawn point close it’s counterintuitive
Now that was a little bit of info I didn’t know before, still fairly new to the game, and only in the last week or so I’ve actually started looking at the forum. At any rate, it is a bit of a strange design choice to only be able to see friendly rallies if any by going out of your way to select and engineer and attempt to build one yourself
if you notice a morse code beep, there is an enemy spawn point close.
team ones do beep only for enemies. so when you see one, and dont hear nothing, you dont have to worry about it.
the noise its audible at +/- 15 to 20 meters.
a single shot/knife swing/grenade its enough to destroy it.
If there are 5 or more custom rally points, map may get quite cluttered with all their markers. This might be a reason, but I can count it on one hand how often that happened to me in the last months.
If you have engineer you can see friendly rally points when you have a hammer in your hand.
if they uses the engineers they would know this
I’m aware you can see them with an engineer, I just want the rather frivolous steps of having to select one just to see other rallies to be removed.
The first post mentioned this possibility.
It’s not used for that - for that you use the sound the enemy rally points emit. If it beeps, kill it with a shot. If it does not beep and you try to shoot at it, you’ll get the friendly blue X (I think.) So you don’t need the map to check if it’s friendly - if it’s silent and aiming it gives a blue ‘X’ then it’s ours.
I think for what friendly rally point markers are useful is to know where to put your one, for which it is a reasonable thing to select your engineer.
Fortunately people didn’t build rallies enough so this wont be the problem…
note: Build more rally. Kills dont win the war, rally point do.
if u hold the deconstruct button (default is j on kb) it will tell u u cant deconstruct it if its friendly
A knife swing still disables friendly spawn points.
Friendly rallies have a blue x marker if you hover your cursor over them. They also don’t emit noise to the observer, and are bulletproof to friendly fire- Though not completely friendly-proof.
If you ask me, you can always shoot a rally and if it goes down, it isn’t friendly. Not even accounting the audio cue.
In my opinion, this is unnecessary, but useful.
wasnt saying it dosent, i was saying one way to tell if its friendly
