Make Destruction infantry only

Now, hear me out on this.

Tanks being able to dump shells onto the radio equipment you are trying to set up an explosive on is flat out ridiculous. By all logical means, a 75mm shell or 250kg bomb would destroy said objective with ease. So why would you need to walk up and plant a bomb on it? The tank shell would destroy it before you can even get there. It’s, without a doubt, the most illogical and ridiculous mode in the game - at least the other modes feel somewhat historical, and you can suspend your disbelief.

Destruction also is not very playable for infantry, as it is an extremely small objective it is hard to get to in order to set/defuse the bomb on many maps with a tiny objective and unlimited tanks.

Disabling tanks and planes in this mode and making destruction APC (minus 75mm APC) and bike only would help this and make the mode far more believable (and, ideally, disable AT guns or remove their HE, but this is needed for all modes IMO). The infantry don’t have tanks (flat tire or out of gas I guess), ergo, they need to manually destroy the equipment. This would vastly improve the playability and believability of this mode in my opinion, killing 2 birds with one stone, and make it something actually unique.

I both love and hate this idea.

On one hand, I think it could really help out the mode. But on the other hand, the best part of Enlisted is that its combined arms

This is not possible within the current game. Removing other vehicles is just a matter pf deleting the spawn points, howevwr (to my knowledge) you cant disable a specific vehicle. You either deal with the 75 APC or have none at all.

But I do think this could be a good idea. I really wish the devs would experiment with some chinges like the one you have mentioned. If nobody likes it, then they could just revert to the old version after a while. Imo, the same philosophy could be used to test weapon balance changes too

I get that, I myself enjoy the Battlefield 1942 type feel it brings, but I think that extremely small objectives no more than a pile of electronics in a hanger are fundamentally incompatible with vehicles as are they are. A limit would be needed, or complete removal, and the latter would be easier for devs and would make the mode more believable. Win-win, IMO.

Yeah, that was kind of a weak spot of the suggestion. Not the biggest of threats anyway and it’s not like it would see pacific maps.

Some of the Battlefields while still allowing vehicles, would make them available only in certain phases

i.e no vehicle spawns for phase 1, Or available in phase 1 but not in phase 2 (you could still carry a vehicle over into phase 2 but once its gone its gone)

I think that they need to make the maps and objectives much bigger. Like half of the entire moscow map goes unused (but its fully decorated and has a working navmesh, the thing that allows soldiers to pathfind) I make some large scale mods and I find they (imo) play much better than ths condensed maps of standard enlisted.

Small objectives just suck. They could all go with being enlarged, however I really don’t see that happening with destruction due to how it fundamentally functions, and I’d like the mode to stay for some variety. So I really don’t see any other way to easily fix it besides this.

Instead of just one small house, I usually have people fighting over a whole section of a town, or sum like that. Paired with longer cap times (like a few minutes) it makes for some interesting fights, as one shell cant clear the whole objective, and you get into more 1 on 1 firefights. There is lots of cover too, and people are constantly moving around, so it feels more like a battle as opposed to just standing on the zone like a bot until someone walks in just to get violated by a POMZ mine lol. Not to mention tanks actually need to push into the zones to get kills. This plus the ability for tanks to cap zones kinda eliminates GZ camping entirely

Not a Wald fan due to the open valley point where arty and CAS can be spammed like crazy, but it would be nice if more maps had objectives like that village where the center of the village is the objective, not a single building.

Radiomen should be limited to radio and sniper squads imo. Would make them a better support class

at same time in those maps the “flank it brah” is somewhat possible, unlike in some berlin maps for example that are just funnels with few choke points.
And in certain maps id say the most of maps goes completely un-used, they are quite big for the rather small 10v10 games.

I welcome this idea, because it makes the gameplay more diverse. It also paves the way for future infantry only battles (like mountain battles). They just need to allow us to have different setup in infantry only battles.

A very interesting idea, and Im not against it, at least as a test run, could be tested in an event at some point.

However atm, I would like to see destruction overhauled to have more interesting objectives instead. I wanna see people try to blow up bridges, depots, artillery batteries or etc, basically larger more spanning objectives that would allow for significantly more infantry cover and reduce the effect of 75/76mm HE spam.

This 100%, Ive been binging the WW1 “big action” style mod that has been about, and the larger map is so refreshing, like regular engagements of 100-200m, trench digging becomes a legitimate strategy, High Explosives become less powerful as infantry are allowed to spread out more, making them less clustered in general.

I’ve been saying for a long time that they need to add a point timer for arming/disarming bombs similiar to capturing a point. I find the main problem with this game type is no one wants to arm/disarm as it is unrewarded so people will stand beside it shooting rather then play the objective.
They also need to change it so you can order you AI squad members to do it while you defend as they don’t do a great job defending you.

Really? Everytime I start it and switch soldiers, my guy gets up and follows me.

You need to order them to do it, its the same button to order them to stand somewhere, just look directly at the radio when close enough and you get the option.
