I believe a lot of new console-players have no idea about the crossplay feature, or what will happen if they join a lobby full of PC-players.
It’s not fun for anyone. Not for PC players, and not for the console players themselves (which definitely may lead them to desert the game and never come back).
Just had two matches, where I was on the both end of the pitch:
It’s nothing fun/challenging to play against:
And it’s definitely not fun to play with:
Please make cross-play disabled by default and let the player base keep their sanity.
