Friendly bomber raids are extremely frustrating because they block all artillery from your own team and typically just get shot down by enemy pilots, making them overall rather useless at best or self-sabotaging your own team at worst.
Calling a bomber raid should prevent artillery for JUST THE PLAYER who called the bombing raid. Bombing raids should not prevent other players from using normal artillery.
In addition this would actually encourage and foster cooperation between players and their radio operators to time bombing raids and artillery together for maximum effect

ALSO BOMBER RAIDS SHOULD AFFECT THE WHOLE AREA.

Yeah, once you get to BR3 and higher, hardly anyone plays radio squad. Radio operator could really need a buff. Bomber raid just are not worth it anymore, especially at higher br
I think bombers should be buffed and should have a score requirement behind them. Functioning more like a kill streak rather than standard artillery.
This would also be nice since it makes it so bombers aren’t throwing for your team, but it won’t make them any more viable.

Always did feel a bit strange that medium bombers were doing danger-close support. Let them occasionally harass the enemy backline.
Also helps keep the map legible, when four call-ins are active at the same time.
They dropped 100kg bombs back in stalingrad but ever since the merge they drop ~50kg bombs now if i remember correctly

only really useful in niche situations where your team is steamrolling and pushing the other team to their greyzone. Otherwise just calling artillery around the objective is more practical
I still to this day think that “dogfighting” is a waste of tickets and manpower that is needed on the objective.
Every plane with no payloads is F- Tier in my book.
That being said - IF bombers would be OP, then pilots fighting to protect or destroy bombing runs would be super healthy for the game.
Same could be done to regular artillery strikes - make them stronger, but make those artillery batteries actually present on the battlefield somewhere far back where pilots could attack them to weaken them.

Well, yeah.
We don’t want to increase HE spam now do we…? So, the more effective artillery strike will be made available morw often, and then bombers gets added on top of everything in a way that doesn’t constantly saturate the tiny playable area with continual explosions.
That’s why I used the word “harass”, I don’t expect it to be as useful as regular artillery, nothing changes in that regard.
Are bomber planes really a big offender to HE spam? Not only do you have an audio warning about it in advance, but you can see on your map the exact danger zone so you have plenty of time to relocate or take cover. Beyond that, fighters can just destroy the bombers anyway
yes and they just really dont affect you as infantry
They tear through unprotected infantry.
The fact that they don’t do loose squads that much is because people are avoiding them, which in an of itself is of tactical benefit.
Kind of like how you avoid the sightlines of that one HE slinging tank in the enemy’s greyzone. Not everything you do or acomplish in-game gets represented with a kill-count.
