Make AI shoot more

I always find it strange when you enter a room and there’s entire squad standing and just looking at you. They will kill you eventually but the time in between is very weird.

Make them shoot, engage, not necessary accurate, make them miss a lot, but make them shoot.

I think this alone would make cqc fights more real and not just only farming dumb AI.

Yes.
And blind shooting above heads on trenches, plus panic shooting into forest or windows.
Soldiers are like to shoot.

I think they should be coded in such a way that if they see a player, Target A, repeatedly break and re-enter their line of sight, their engagement time should be decreased to the point that on the 3rd time the player corner peaks, their guns are already lined up on the corner with a split second delay before they start shooting.

Breaking LoS with a bot right now effectively resets their engagement timer.

To include on the breaking LoS there should be a mechanic that allows the bot to remember where the player last shown up and briefly suppress that corner/window/doorway before returning to its idle state. Considering that all AI practically have unlimited ammo as they don’t pull out of the player’s ammo supply when reloading I think it’d add a bit more cinematic firefights than what we have atm.

Yes and no.

There are times when the AI seem like dumb statues that are unable to defend themselves, but there are other times they’ll crack you in one shot instantly if they see you at all within 50m. There doesn’t seem to be an inbetween.

if you stick to one place and use the mark enemy location (and there’s enemy there) your AI squad tend to fire a lot more.

… unfortunately that doesn’t mean they’re hitting enemies.
note, i only noticed this with rifles. it defintiely didn’t work for sniper rifles :frowning:

If you think that you can comfortably jog a 100m just because only AI is facing you, you deserve to get shot.

God dammit we are not capable programmers

it’s realistic, reminds me of how captain winters charge after smokes and met the whole campany of german soilders.

Then proceeds to shoot a 14-ish years old first

sure add aggression to perfect aim, next have them throw grenades and smoke more often, built rally points that way we don’t even need the player the game can play itself. the bots have a delay because there purpose is to increase the kill count, maybe just increase there rate of fire, that is instead of waiting for the perfect shot they act more like players and shoot when they have say a 66% or more chance of a hit

yes, if they’d miss first couple of shots and then get me I would barely tell if it was a bot or player apart from the movement, so they’d blend in better to the battlefield which is great no doubt

No, I was referring to when I’m moving in and out of cover, or through a forest where the actual line-of-sight to me is completely obscured.

Not completely if a bullet could hit you, anyway I do understand how it can be frustrating, however Enlisted AI is nowhere near RO2 or ER2 AI which 1 shoot you in the head without aiming.

I just want bots to target snipers more, especially the bolt-action ones. It is not fair my clueless bots with lmgs getting freeloaded by camping cheeky snipers, because this is not sniper elite mp.

i’d want bots to target snipers more too but also rambo lmg squads, if you’re too aggresive either by camping or running and gunning you’ll be taken down, because this is not sniper elite mp. nor call of duty.
