Typical scenario:
Player is running to the objective while I shoot his AI one by one. AI is too bad to do anything and player is either too buissy to deal with me or simply doesn’t realise his bots are in danger.
So the simplest sollution is to allow AI to place marks and give audio notifications.
Marker should look different from the “normal” one and it should be visible only to the player who owns this squad. It should be placed in the general area where the enemy is, not directly at his location. Probably with some cooldown (5s lets say) to not flood the player with markers.
Some simple voicelines like “contact!” “we are under fire” etc would be nice.
This way the player will know from where his AI is being shot at and can consciously decide to ignote it. Or help them.
Ok, but the issue is that you need to spot the enemy. I want AI to notify me about the danger so I can take action (and for example spot it for them and my team).
The issue is not AI being shit but me not knowing about the danger (thus not being able to act accordingly).
Ai reaction in close quarter is very bad, so bad it feels like it was made that way intentionally, I would run into 10 AI and be able to kill 5 before 1 even start shooting, they would need to increase the response time…would drive me crazy to be alerted of danger when I was already shot from behind half a minute ago xD
