The M14/41 is a slight upgrade over the M14/41 in the tech tree, because of 2 main things different from the TT version. The most visibly notable one is the replacement of the dual 8mm Breda machine guns in the hull with a 13.2mm machine gun. This gun has 30 round magazines (300 rounds total) with a 3 second reload, and it’s shells can penetrate 28mms of armor, and has a manageable rate of fire of 450 RPM. The second major change is the refurbishment of the main weapon, upgrading to the 47 mm 47/40 mod.38 cannon, which has a more effective APHE shell than the M14/41’s, penetrating 62mms compared to 48mms, which is just enough to let it take on some more tough enemies a bit easier. I think this would be a cool event vehicle for BR1.
Let’s compare
M2a4 weak gun decent armor inferior to the m14/47 conclusion weaker
Daimler armor that both guns can pen and a weaker gun conclusion far weaker
A13 weak gun and paper armor on the turret far weaker both cannons can pen conclusion far weaker
The current 14/41 is already better than any allied br1 tank
The 14/41 is barley br 1 including the 47/40 both tanks are closer to the m5a1 than the m2a4
The dual 8mm machine guns are replaced with a 13mm cannon and the
47mm goes from 48 to 62 mm of pen
So a straight upgrade
Armor is the same, design the same, just better guns
I’m going to contradict you about the American M2A4 tank from BR 1. I use it in BR 5 and I’m doing very well so far. When I come across a Tiger 1 or a Panther, their mobility makes it super easy to flank them, and if I get hit by the ammo, they’re cleaned up. And when I have a Tiger 2, I do the same. The mobility is so great that once I’m in range, I go down and lay down a charge, and that’s good, no more Tigers! Afterwards, I admit that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to see as many Italian tanks as German tanks, even if it means having anti-aircraft guns!
