this might be the worst so called assault squad for its BR with its main weapon with a stunning 450 RPM, worst than the FNAB-43 with 460 RPM and even the M3A1 smg shoots faster than this with 470 RPM.
may the dev have mercy on this premium squad that doesnt do premium performance for its BR.
It’s definitely not up to snuff for BR4 with the low rate of fire. Fully maxed the StG has a 9.6 damage which isn’t bad, however, even the BR2 Grease gun has a higher ROF then the StG .Other then the lower rate of fire, the StG 45 is almost a mirror of the Horn StG, which is also not up to snuff for BR5.
I would rather see it get a ROF increase to 500 and leave it at BR4. Then drop the Horn from BR5 to BR4 because it is not up to snuff at BR5 at 500 RPM. The FNAB is also pathetic with it’s low ROF at BR2, so either buff the speed or drop the weapon to BR1.
To be honest, if these premium and event squads came with unlocked weapons (which I believe they should), I would have shit canned both the StG 45 and Horn StG for Kiraly’s and KP-31’s. Well, to be honest, if I could change the weapons I might just give one MP-28’s and the other MP-34’s and try and form a BR1 lineup because I am already stacked at BR2, BR3 and BR5.
Even the grease gun fires faster than it? That really caught me off guard.
Given its stats, shifting this weapon up to BR3 seems like a viable adjustment. The only pushback would likely come from history enthusiasts complaining about historical inaccuracies breaking the game setting. Otherwise, I can hardly see any other way to salvage this gun.
Its rate of fire is painfully low.
Currently BR4 and BR5 frequently get merged into one matchmaking pool, and this firearm might not even outmatch the PPS series with its standard magazine.
This gun suffers the exact same flaw as the LAD. It might boast a large magazine or solid damage per shot, but its low rate of fire means you cannot unload those rounds before you get eliminated
Its only applicable positioning is similar to the IS‑2 among tank formations. It is confined to second-line support instead of leading frontline assaults.
I bet the majority of people who voted to “No” in the poll have never actually used this weapon on BR 4. After purchasing this squad when it was still on sale and had used in a match, i’d immediately ditched it and swapped back to squads with Kiraly because holy shit it was really bad.
The .30-cal Thompson is BR3 with a fire rate of around 700 RPM, if I’m not mistaken, and 8.7 damage. At this point, I’m realizing that the STG family in general is actually… mediocre for BR5; ultimately, their performance differs very little from the Thompsons, which are available as early as BR3. I recall someone mentioning that, ballistically, the 8mm Kurz is similar to 6.5x55mm calibers—so why don’t they bump the damage up to at least 12 or 13 for the 8mm Kurz weapons?
Technically yes; the most popular weapons you’ll see in BR5 right now are the PPSH-41 (box/drum), AVT-40, MG42, Type Hei Automatic, Thompsons, Garand, and T20.
the reason i dont use the vg1-5 is because it useless in the hands of the bots.
i use my bot as me automated turret and not just following me aimless, with the current bot firing behaviour, vg 1-5 is not effective unless they change the firing patern specifically for guns like vg 1-5, m1 carbine or any semi-auto rifle that cannot one tap anyting, isntead of the usual 1 taps maybe a burst of 3 taps just give a higher chance of killing anything
Both the STG and AS-44 are fully capable of keeping up at BR5 when compared to other assaulter weapons. The fact that the meta at BR5 is so royally fucked that they can’t keep up with SFs doesn’t make them worse weapons by themselves nor does that mean that they are BR4 material.
Either lower its tier again or increase its fire rate; otherwise, the STG-45M squad is stuck with the fire rate of a semi-automatic rifle while having to compete against fully automatic rifles in Tier V matches.
A squad of 9 guys with bolt-action rifles and grenade launchers is something you just can’t pass up because they’re so good—it’s a setup I use a lot with the Japanese. Leading the charge is my machine gunner with the FN1930; it’s a really solid weapon if you know how to use it in CQB and on the slow automatic mode
Those guns are effective on players hand, but on the hands of bots its a mixed results.
I have tested it myself, i placed me bots behind good concealment with the result, MG is the best overall, SMG is next, Semi-auto Rifles with one one shot Capability, second to the last is the bolt action rifles and the last place are the Semi-auto Rifles with no 1 shot Capability
The highest kills my bot gets when properly positioned are around 13 to 19 kills
Yeah, they often really save the day; sometimes I do that with them, i build sandbag walls around them inside buildings, and they’re pretty effective. With a nine-man rifleman squad, you can easily rack up 10 or more kills on average, depending on luck and the map. Japanese rifles are specialy good in this tactic
