There’s no way in hell A6M3 is competitive when I have SpitFire LF Mk IX at a BR2 beating your arse in that flying dinosaur when my spitfire BR2 has everything your A6M3 has, but 10x better.
And did I mention BR2?

The Mk IX should never have been BR II, don’t think that’s the new standard, it should be moved up.

The A6M3 is basicly just a A6M2 but with a little bit more ammo for its guns.
The drop tank while better than nothing isnt really a reason to uptier the plane ( i still get way to many hitmarkers only with drop tanks when useing it).
Even if its a direct upgrade on some maps (it still is a carrier plane) over the TT version it really should not be an issue since the allies love to excuse their powercreep by “its an event/premium so its limited”.

It would make more Sense if the Carriers stays but ALL Planes, Allied and Japanese Planes start from the Carrrier but the Devs wont listen
Not really. I think the new P‑63 Kingcobra should be moved down to BR‑2.
The Allies already have the 5.7‑rated Spitfire Mk XIV at BR‑2. This aircraft sits at 2.7, it can only carry one roughly 220 kg bomb and its 37 mm cannon fires nothing but HE rounds. Its loadout hardly lives up to its reputation.
Compare it to another fighter that only carries two 60 kg bombs plus one fire‑bottle. Its weak ordnance and limited availability make BR‑2 a fitting place for it.
Next time when drafting suggestions, the OP should attach screenshots of the aircraft. It is hard to tell which plane is being discussed only from its name.
Oh, so this is the aircraft. It caused quite a lot of controversy back then.
- The two event‑given planes were identical to the two from the pre‑order bundle. It was basically a complete slap in the face for paying customers.
On the bright side, it lets you field two of them at the same time, so paying players still got something out of it.
- It also proves the rule: one of the two vehicles in every pre‑order bundle is bound to be bad.
Even at BR‑3, this Japanese aircraft is practically useless within its BR bracket.

I like the A6M3, it probably would be the best BR2 plane if it was downtiered for some reason

It’s fine. You can only get this kind of aircraft either from loot boxes, with odds so low you could wait years, or by paying real money.
Very few players own it. Making it somewhat strong would not matter much and would not shake the meta.
After all, DF still hasn’t nerfed the XA‑38 to this day

Congrats, you are really lucky.
I have been opening crates for roughly two years and still have not got the BT‑76 I want. Ever since DF stuffed tons of unnecessary reskin vehicles into loot boxes, the odds have gotten even worse.
On the bright side, I have collected almost all squads except the Japanese paratrooper squad.
