People say that more campaigns will split the player base and this can be proven or disproven rather easily after you wait a month after a major update happens, but this is not the looming issue.
When Darkflow implements new campaigns to the game, the delay from each Battle Pass will become longer and longer as the development team adds “new” content to the previous campaigns. You noticed the time frame from BP3 to BP4? It was not as long as BP4 to BP5 with FOUR delays added.
Sooner or later, the player base is going to be caught into a limbo state of staying at level 60 of a battle pass for months at a time before a new BP releases, which only happens when a major update happens. The more campaigns, the more delays, the more unrest and the more copium to read.
I’ve said my piece - what are your thoughts about how this will effect the Battle Pass system?
They’ll add new eras of war into the 50s,60s, 70s etc. WWII will run out of new content with the same things repeating again and again. In many ways we have the majority of equipment in one campaign or another as is. Theyll “finish” the current campaigns and not add stuff to them for several battle passes and work on the new ones
I may not be remembering something correctly, but isn’t the “unofficial” word that the campaign caps will be set at 40 (at least for the first 4 campaigns)?
If that’s true, then at some point that frees up time and resources for them to focus on the other stuff.
But again, I don’t know if I dreamed that up or if that’s actually something they said.
They sayd for the beta maybe the stop is 40lv but yea we cant know how many levels they add or if tomorrow the decide to scrap level in favors of a nation tech tree, and campaign in favor of war theatre only the time know the answer
The looming problem is the addition of filler content and the stubborn DF mantaining features and unique content exclusive to 1 campaign, you don’t think it would be that hard to add those god damm shovels to the other campaigns instead of making another one
All those features in Stalingrad, bombers, ampoulet, maxim and customization will stay in Stalingrad for a good time cuz they need a selling point to gather interest in the campaign, i bet we’ll get these things…soon™ ?
Meh. Compared to all other campaigns, except Axis Tunisia, it’s true there’s more bolt action use. They’re seriously good in Stalingrad, so much I keep using my riflemen squads with starter bolties (and Mannlicher). Sure there’s auto in the campaign, but not as much I’d say
Three is not a large enough sample, and hidden variables include the number of projects they are concurrently working on, the timetables and priorities of those projects, the number of people and resources dedicated to it. All of those things can change and any one of them would alter the length of any delay.
To assume with no working knowledge of what has caused the delays in the past that the trend will continue on a linear path is a weak hypothesis
Ok, four battlepass seasons. I contest that 4 is a low enough number that noise from outside variables like pandemic and war can drown out any valid indication of a trend.
No actual evidence has been provided beyond that; so while I don’t necessarily disagree, I remain unconvinced.
I generally find it disappointing how people will make assumptions on what game developers are doing based on very little public-facing data. It might as well be gossip
