The lone wolf respawn restrictions seem a bit illogical to me. If you lose a member of a squad, you cant choose another member of a same squad next. This can be a bit frustrating if you just lost a class you need and only have it in that squad (e.g. a bomber dying before killing the tank). It also doesn’t really make sense that the different squads would send in a soldier one at a time, so there is really no reason for this restriction.
Another thing that bugs me out even more is that you have absolutely no incentive in having bigger squads in lone wolf mode. Its much better to keep a squad as small as possible with a few well equipped specialists, as you can simply pick your best soldiers again once most of them are dead. As levelling up squads to make them bigger and better and then taking care to arm all of those individual soldiers well is a big part of the game (at least to me), I think its just stupid to have an incentive to actually not use the whole squad in a battle.
Personally I would really enjoy a change that would allow you to use each soldier only once. That would make choosing wich squads to bring much more interesting and and variable, as you would have to balance between quality vs. quantity and ponder if you have all the specialists you need on your squads.
It could also tone down the tank/air spam that seems to be the meta at the moment, as you would only have one precious vehicle to use during the whole battle. Maybe there could also be a retreat possibility for planes and tanks in the reload points, and maybe they could even be repaired after some time in the rear! (OK, I’m drifting a bit off topic here.)
How well this would interact with the tickets in invasion mode I don’t really know, and obviously in longer and bigger maps you could have more than one life per soldier.
This whole idea also connects with the whole “capping rambos vs. camping killfarmers” argument, personally I do not really belong in either group. XP gains should just be adjusted so that there is a meaningful balance between the two playstyles.
Let me know what you think!
PS. I just recently started playing lone wolf mode, so I’m a bit of a newbie with some of the mechanics. Feel free to clarify and correct me where necessary.
