So this gives a little more info… a tank upgrade to have logs.
- deflection of some shots
- if there are wet terrains… then tanks will be bogged down — potentially all the way if they drive into soft ground like bog / swamp. I don’t really expect this but it would have terrain realism for something that was a major factor to tactical considerations in wwII that is any motorized vehicle could get stuck in muddy roads as paved roads were uncommon in places like Russia. So muddy areas would hinder motorized vehicles in certain seasons, or in event of battle happening after rain. Russia is a big example of very unfriendly terrain for motorized/armored units.
Also having some fuel consumption probably isn’t required as battles are probably shorter than fuel would ever run out. However the terrain thing is a tactical consideration, limiting where tanks can easily move. Not sure how difficult programming different timing or stamina consumption for movement over terrain but it is an idea to have motorized and infantry to be effected by terrain they are on, such as more stamina to go up stairs or up hill, and boosts of speed going down hill. Tanks likewise gain speed going down hills I think this happens. but also chance of mechanical breakage to tracks ect if they have big drops such as down hill off a cliff on the normandy infasion. I think this may happen already. But no mud etc… but this was a big tactical consideration.
