Limit flamethrower squads like how tanks and aircraft are limited

We should limit our playtime as well, 1h a day should be max for the healthy adult. You can’t finish 3 event missions and a dailies? Too bad but with our generous developers they will let you skip days for 500 gold each.

I think limiting flamethrower squads to one per army would be sufficient.

you either limit the squads that can be deployed at a single time or you limit the effectiveness of those squads/their weapons through nerfbats and the like.

Machinegun squads are kind of a joke with how they handle machineguns. (nevermind the guns that they’re given are really lame and barely historical… why would the germans be using italian LMG’s and not ZB-26’s at normandy?.. why is the bren gunner holding the barrel handle even while the gun is deployed/braced/mounted? why aren’t there assistant gunners keeping the mags topped off and the ammo flowing?

That’s where the whole reason for the forum discussion exists. To refine details.

By earning it can either be through experience, or through the in-game currency they are switching over to when the merge hits. It would take quite a lot obviously, but it would be a way for more slots to be obtained.

Let’s limit anything that kills people like we do tanks and planes. It overused both sides, offense and defense…

I’m simply asking to limit something that has a considerably high effect on the battle.

  • Tanks and planes have the capability to wipe out 8-20 people with ease on good strikes. They are limited in how many can be in operation at a time because of this.

  • Artillery strikes can kill 5-15 people pretty easy on a good strike. They are limited on how frequently they can be called in for this reason.

  • Bomber raids can decimate all cover across half or more of the battlefield, in addition to killing tons of troops, they have a fairly long timer on them.

Flamethrowers

Can be used as both extraordinarily powerful room clearing tools, area clearing tools, and area denial. Its not uncommon to see kill feeds of 15+ with a flamethrower. Putting it right on par with other things that are limited for balance reasons.

“Pls nerf” threads are extremely overused on BOTH forums, both eng and ru. They can be extremely difficult to ignore, especially when there is more than one whining a time.

At that point where do we stop? Cuz lmgs and smgs can replicate the exact same thing. Clear a huge amount of players easy. Flamethrowers are not the outstanding variable here

MGs and SMGs still require accuracy. Flamethrowers are just point in a general direction and everything in that direction is dead. In addition, its 200 capacity (or more with the perk), you don’t have to reload with it, even when you grab another tank from an ammo box its an almost non-existent “reload”.
It leaves flame everywhere and can even burn through walls. The damage output is FAR higher than bullet based weaponry.

hey,bro I hate all restrictions. You restrict this thing today, and want to restrict other things another day. Do you think games with all restrictions will be fun? This is why there is a BR system in the future.

Flamthrowers have been already nerfed recently (1.5 sec delay between being in fire and being burned).

There is no reason to make them more weak.

With the sheer amount of fire that they leave around, this really doesn’t make much difference. The whole area is still inaccessible (you will be set on fire), and the flames do high enough damage to quickly kill anything that steps into it.

There is literally a perk designed to counter it, faster time to extinguish. It only costs 1. It’s so easy to get

This doesn’t help when there is fire everywhere. You have to be standing somewhere there is no fire to be able to extinguish, no matter how fast that may be.

Personally I’m in favour of limits as they help to keep things powerfull. I preffer to have a strong flamethrower than a burning fart spewer.

But it’s not as easy as “limit X”. It would require a new system and quite honestly a small overhaul to make it work.

Maybe one day we will get it together with a semirealistic gamemode. One can hope.


Personally I’m a person who quickly gets bored by sandbox games and has fun from dealing with limitations / problems. So I’m kind of biased.

Well this is where you should go to voice your opinion no matter how biased, just keep facts straight.
This seni realistic mode could include some preplanning where they designate one single squad of flamethrowers to assist in a coordinated attack. I’m all ok with that being the case.

Sometimes you are just screwed, and sometimes the fire is buggy. I know there’s been times I’m ten feet away from any current fire and can’t extinguish.
Flamethrowers would be better if they didn’t wall clip and the flames actually well, followed proper physics.

because the issue isn’t the flametrooper itself or the weapon

the issues are these:

  • the objectives are too small for the amount of soldiers fighting over it, same issue that has caused many other game mechanic ruining nerfs, such as mortar deadly nerf and the barb wire mega nerfs

  • the players can spam them & sometimes do, you could literally have a full team of flametroopers all out at one time, and with the new system, it’s even easier to spam them with each spawn possibly being a flametrooper squad

if people keep asking for nerfs and they keep happening, everything that used to be fun about this game will be gone, as will I

The mortar nerf was the wrong thing to change, the barb wire was the wrong thing to change, even the climbing through windows nerf was the wrong thing to change

and more people asking for the wrong things to change will only result in more wrong changes to this game, which only make the game worse, not better

the new update is a perfect example, it’s not going to make the game any better for me, it’s only making it worse, it is completely undoing all my hard work and throwing it out the window, that is how you do a really good job of permanently annoying players like me who had goals to achieve and had a sense of accomplishing those goals with a reward, now that will be dead. And so with this trend of ruining the game with every major change, I am closer and closer to dumping this game
