It’s just the usual DF sight bugs, and they happen about as often as the tank gun sight going completely black.
These sights are just awful. I really hope they either change them or widen the camera FOV to blur them out.
As far as that sight bug, I haven’t noticed it since the only time I have ever used the Lewis is on the practice range, and that was only a few seconds till I realized I hated the gun sight enough I wasn’t ever going to use it as it was. However it didn’t have the bug when I tested it.
I won’t use the gun because the sights are unbearable. It’s not a huge loss for me as my favorite MG in the game is the BAR 1918 A2. However it is a waste of a gun that would probably be a nice MG if you could actually see the target through all that crap they call a gun sight. All they need to do is fold the sight down and it would be usable.
iirc its a LOD bug, has been reported but no official response yet
Sometimes the ingame models turn low quality. It can also happen to tanks and apcs
Currently there’s no method to reproduce the bug so it could potentially be specific hardware , gpu driver related as i personally haven’t gotten it.
Sometimes the gun model doesnt seem to load properly.
The M1919A6 used to get this problem often.
Bug reports remain unanswered after 2+ years.
While there clearly is a pattern here:
M1919a6
Farquhar hill
Aircraft guns
Edit: I have also seen this occur in YT videos of known players who surely dont have a potato pc.
I have seen these bugs also from time to time, but its so irregular that I also can’t think of a possible reason.
Maybe its ram ? Something not loading properly under high loads? Who knows…
For me i personally haven’t seen it on my hardware configuration since every person has different hardware config it’s quite hard to find out the main issue
One of the bug testers mentioned offhand he thinks it’s a LOD issue, but they’re not sure. I’ve seen it happen most recently on the T24 premium squad and the silenced thompson, but it seems to be random. I can’t reproduce it consistently either ![]()
