I haven’t used MP40 since the campaign merge, which is a shame because its one of - if not the most iconic SMG of WW2.
I dont see how it can be buffed to compete with current top performing BR2 SMGs.
So my proposal is to at least move MP38 down to BR1, considering its the older brother of the MP40.
Currently those guns perform rather similarly, with MP38 having a tiny bit better dispersion, but a bit more recoil than MP40 - this particularly doesn’t follow the games current balance logic.
Usually when a gun is heavy, it gets worse dispersion in Enlisted but better recoil, and since MP38 is heavier than MP40 because the main difference between those two guns in reality was that MP38 was milled, while MP40 was stamped, so a dispersion nerf could work fine.
So when moving MP38 down to BR1 nerfing its dispersion would be fair game, maybe even lower its RPM by 20 or something, but no matter what happens, I just want to have a reason to use MP40 or MP38 again.
The problem here is that there are many submachine guns on BR2 that are about as strong as the MP38.
M3A1 grease gun, MP28 (7.65) M1 Beretta, Erma MP36 etc.
We don’t want to move all of them to BR1, do we? The OP BR2 SMGs should be nerfed to uptiered instead.
The MP38 will never be used at BR2, and even at BR1 it wouldn’t be a game changer so I would agree to drop it a level. Same with the FNAB, if it ain’t gonna be buffed then it needs to be dropped to BR1.
Okay well, thats my issue tho, I see no possibility to buff MP40 or MP38. You cant increase its rate of fire, because then it’s simply not a MP40 anymore.
FNAB is a different story because its RPM is incorrect to begin with.
They could definitely buff the dispersion of the MP-40 and the MP-38 to give them more viability with how much they’ve been power crept. The FNAB is trash and I wouldn’t use it even if it was BR1
Ngl I have only used MP-40 on my German BR2 assaulters since forever because I can’t see them using anything else in a WW2 game (the Italian BR2 boys get the Beretta).
And I don’t think it’s bad?
As far as MP-38 goes, it is indeed unused even since campaign times, I just gave them all away to tankers for emergency situations.
