Lets give my little Stug A HE and HEAT instead of AP and HEAT

that would make that vehicle pretty unique, and thus worth using.

I never bring my sad little Stug A, because Panzer III N, Panzer III M, Puma and especially Stalingrad Heat Panzer III are all straight upgrades.

Stug III A has too little ammo to make it work.

19 AP
18 HEAT
7 Smoke

Smoke is a great utility round for tanks - but 7? holy hell… that takes up a lot of total ammo.

Here is how the ammo should actually look like to make the vehicle at least semi decent:

22 HE
20 HEAT
2 Smoke

I’d actually use this tank if it had HEAT and HE like the M8 Scott

kinda sad if you concider that the old panzer 4e had a total of 40 rounds just HEAT and even decent HE in their APHE once the HEAT is spent.
But the stug ( while very cool) suffers so hard from its low ammo.

and I was upset that the panzer 4 loses so much ammo but here… What ammo?

Well, it would indeed have similarities with a Scot - while not having a top mounted MG, the Stug isn’t open top, so I guess fair trade off right?

Just give it 40 HEATs, there’s no point to use anything else (ofc not counting smoke shells)

Well yeah, that might also do.

Or just let us change the shells of tanks and belts of planes

I also do like this alot, but I have to admit that predefined ammo loadouts are a strong way to balance out vehicles.

  • which isn’t even fully utilised by the devs to begin with…

Like there was a recent discussion about how the Panzer IV H should go to BR3 - even though people aren’t even considering giving vehicles that perform naturally worse in their BR access to special AP ammo like they did with the Firefly recently.

In that case, developers could implement option to choose from just a few predefined loadouts.
And those loadouts could also affect the overall BR of the tank.
So the balance could still be managed by them to some extent
