The Zombie event got four nice unique characters to chose from. But if you play it for multiple days, it gets too repetitive.
So my Suggestion is:
Let us spawn as a soldier from our own squads!
It works like this:
Just like in Lone Fighters mode, you chose one soldier of your squad to spawn with.
You still only spawn with a melee weapon, just like you do now.
But why would it be a good addition to the game?
It would make each player more unique, and you can remember them better - they can become their “character” which makes the squad and friends more personalized.
People can use the “skins” they like or customized in the menu - more interest in playing
More diversity in matches - it would make multiple games more unique than just repeating the same setting over and over again (less repetitive)
Customized soldier uniforms and premium squad uniforms would become more interesting.
Since the halloween squads can be obtained in silver boxes for free, the halloween soldiers would still be able to use by those who like them.
Since it would work somewhat like in Lone Fighters mode, i think it should be not too hard to copy.

because its very useless and wont help this event mode at all it would just waste the precious work hours of the devs. adding something new thats so minor to an event thats hated by the whole community won’t really be noticed and the 2 people who would actually have fun with this change dont really matter if the work hours could be distributed to actually improve the event mode / work on something new so the relations with the community actually improve
as of right now, only two out of sixteen voters voted against it and one of them is you. I would not call that majority. It is not a bug fix, it is supposed to be a suggestion to improve the game mode.
Some people who do not like the game mode complained about the event being repetitive - so even in that view it would be a benefitial suggestion for mor diversity.
Also, the whole community not liking this event is quite… inaccurate. Surely there are a lot of people who do not like it, but also a lot of people who do like it.
My opinion aligns with the player above. Improving the game mechanics and balancing the difficulty is far more important than allowing players to use their own characters. After all, even if players use their own characters, their unit abilities and roles remain unchanged, making the mode repetitive and boring. From my observation, most Chinese players find this year’s Halloween event disappointing, mainly due to unreasonable game mechanics and excessive difficulty. The developers’ focus on modifying character appearances instead of improving game mechanics makes me suspect they are avoiding player criticism.
If the developers could listen to the players’ suggestions and modify unreasonable game mechanics—such as adding ammo boxes, giving different special abilities to different class characters, and allowing players to repeatedly purchase the same weapon—I certainly wouldn’t object to the developers further optimizing the details of the Halloween event. However, this is not the case at present. The above-mentioned requests made by the players should not be difficult to implement from a technical point of view, and they will not decrease or may even increase player activity. However, the developers refuse to make any substantial changes, which disappoints me.
you cant take these forum polls seriously. its not an indicator for anything discussed previously. all of the ppl who voted “yes” would play the event mode even without this addition (and if they arent playing it rn i assume this addition would not make them play it)
that the whole community dislikes the event is obviously an exaggeration but i assume you know how the public opionion regarding the event is
i really dont see how editing your own soldier would make the game mode less repetitive or would improve it anyhow. yes it could be nice to change the skins or whatever but it just wouldnt change anything about how the event is and how the community would perceive it. who knows, perhaps it would lead to a decline in trust: after the devs tried improving it with the recent announcement of implementing the silver boxes, the people were even more furious because its not a change to the event at all and wont help at all. How is your suggestion different from the silver-box-decision. it would certainly lead to the same feedback
For this event, I prefer all 4 players can spawn with a full BR2 ground squad with all equipment, respawn only available with one-use rally point which respawns all players.
They need to demolish some targets, protect a location, activate a cannon, capture a point, or destroy some rifts (works like an APC). After that they can retreat their squad and gain additional points. Looking familiar?
I did not mention the game mechanics in my suggestion. I agree with you that they need some improvements, as well as that the difficulty is too high for random players.
My post does NOT say that any of these improvements should be canceled.
My post is a single standing suggestion which would be a nice addition - not a cure to the entire game mode…

The change is good, but like @cem9080-live said just abandon this event, no need to improve it.
If we want to play zombie there’s bunch of custom map, no need to create offical match to make us suffer.
