Lest We Forget

There are probably many veterans whom play here, or those like me whom tried but something medical got in the way of the final portion.
This is rememberance day and we all will be in our own way supporting those who fought and died or were wounded for our respective countries.

In my experience being a solider was best summed up by these words (these are not my own, FYI).

"A Veteran is someone whom at some point wrote a blank check to his country that was ‘up to and including my life’ "

At this time too I wanted to share a small image, because we forget at times that there are companions to soldiers whom also make this sacrifice, who have saved the lives of their brothers just like we have over the years.

I’m a :cat2: person …

Yes we had 2 mins silence today.

@Keofox no mention of this day?

Veteran’s day was originally created to celebrate the veterans of combat from WWI that delivered our victory (the USA). The ceasefire went into effect on the 11th day on the 11th hour on the 11th month. It was originally called Armistice day until Eisenhower changed it to Veteran’s day.

That was at a time, when they thought that this type of war would never happen again. 21 years later they were very much proven wrong unfortunately. So now it is a time for all veterans, on all conflicts.

It’s primarily a USA only holiday

in the rest of the world we remember the end of the great war

Canada Here, and all but one province has it off as a Federal Holiday (naturally the one I am in).

All of our Veterans are remembered. Each memorial including the one where I just recently moved has the lost members including Afghanistan.
