A very simple question to the developers of this game & I don’t want a moderator replying unless it is word to word copy paste from the developers.
Q: Does the developers really believe that the game is ready to launch on the state that it is in ?.
To my fellow close alpha testers, I said at one point I knew why they brought us, or more technically what they needed us for/our task. It was no more than giving them some samples for very minor tweaks that aren’t going to change that much.
We didn’t even test the other theaters/campaigns, most of the players were not even given the time window to test everything with (I believe) only one player being able to unlock everything & we know that only because he mentioned it (but I believe most of us know how he got their -again this isn’t shaming/down looking just an acknowledgement-).
Whom is with me that the game need a lot more time to see an actual launch not a half-assed project with a tag that says “Fixing later” ?.
I don’t think the game is ready to freely let people in unless they are hiding some major improvements from alpha testers. Not even if they warn everyone that it’s “early access”. When you’re selling access you have to meet certain expectations. Ultimately it’s their decision, though. Waiting too long can be just as bad as releasing the game to the public too early.
Even those “Major improvement” need to be tested & evaluated & see how it affect the game as whole, taking more to to actually work & develop the game mechanics & above all (why closed alphas should be used at) experimenting with the help of the community involved.
I’m really disappointed to see my words coming true (what we were used for) because this could have been a really good game with the sky being the limit for its potential but alas we all know how F2P would eventually turn out. I really wish if we could just bypass moderators & have a very direct communication line with the developers so they can relay to us their goals & intentions & work accordingly based on them.
November 10th will not be a Launch Day. It says in the article that the Xbox release will only be accessible to people who buy a founders pack, they are just extending closed tests to console, the only difference between the PC tests and the Xbox tests are that people who bought founders packs arent the only people who got in.
Quote from the article
Enlisted will be part of Xbox Series X|S launch line-up as a Game Preview title and a timed console exclusive. A ‘Founder’s pack’ purchase will be required to get access to the game.
Good catch but hope for more direct communication line with the developers, & selling a test ticket while the game is F2P doesn’t entice me on the extent of what the monetization will do.
Selling founders packs isn’t that abnormal, everyone who bought the founders pack for Enlisted got a guaranteed spot in this test, Squad sold founders packs 5 years before its 1.0 update and all the founders got was Early access with some Skins that they are getting Just now. Warframe sold founders skins waaaaaay before it was a finished product (in my opinion the monetization was pretty fair but I havent played in a year) etc etc.
Warframe is still pretty fair because you can obtain platinum by selling items you obtain by just playing. This is not the case for any of gaijin’s products. Even crossout, while it has a player market, meddles with the economy though 10% tax rates.
