Some last ditch Japanese weapons. From what I read, these were never used, as they were made in preparation of defending the home islands, which never got invaded. Since Enlisted is full of prototypes already, this could be a cool event gun.
The first was chambered in the standard Arisaka cartridge (7.7×58mm) while the second was for the Nambo pistol cartridge (8×22mm). The rifle chambered in the Arisaka cartridge was a single shot bolt action rifle, from the pictures, it looks like the “carbine” was too. Crudely made, simple guns. Since we’ve gotten the Liberator recently, why not these?
There are these two too
National Simplified Rifle
Although the name is identical to the People’s Rifle, this firearm was designed entirely for civilian use. It dispensed with the cartridges it had, and used black gunpowder like a rifle. It was recorded that it operated with a percussion cap or matchlock, capable of using the primer from a pistol or shotgun. If even primers weren’t available, it seems the matchlock would have had to be used. It is said that the blueprints were distributed and manufactured by home industries.
National Simplified Pistol (Japanese counterpart to Liberator Lol)
Likewise, the triggering method uses a percussion cap or a matchlock.
“In early 1945, on the brink of defeat, all men were mobilized according to the Battle of the Mainland Plan. Approximately 3 million men were drafted, but there was no way to provide them with weapons. So, they fashioned makeshift rifles out of school desks and chairs. They lacked rifling and were single-shot rifles, requiring a single shot before reloading. They even ran out of bullets, so they filled them with black gunpowder and nails, bolts, and rocks, using them like matchlock guns. Fortunately for them, the war ended before the American troops landed on the mainland, so these weapons were never used in actual combat”
