Well I don’t know how to describe it any further. Title basically says it all.
There’s a slot where you can unequip/equip a scope and there’s only one option for practically every gun. so there should be more scopes
But here’s my reasoning:
-
It allows you to pick more snipers for your playstyle as you can pick a scope for close range or far range
-
It allows for more customization and freedom
-
It will satisfy people who want their weapon setups 100% historically accurate
-
Allow for more reticle options/more personalized weapon
I’m sure there’s a lot more reasons to allow you to switch out scopes, but these are my main points.
In addition, lower magnification scopes would be nice- or readjustment of the scope magnifications. I really like 4x (or lower) zoom

You forget one major thing, most of these weapons are already historically accurate in terms of scopes. These weapons were never meant to be modified with different scopes or items mainly because they had unique ways of mounting scopes. Let’s look at the Russians for example, it’d be very difficult to put a different PE scope that’s a different shape or size that doesn’t match with the scope mount on a M91/30 Most of these weapons were created during world war II with one purpose in mind. Modifications were either a long process to refine a weapon requiring field testing and trials, or field modifications done in smaller amounts by soldiers/gunsmiths within the field. Not every weapon could be field modified.
This creeps closer to the call of duty aspect of gaming, if they decided to allow changeable scopes. If the scope was changed within history and could feasibly be done it should be, But changing scopes willy-nilly should not be part of this game.
What’s next, extended magazines? These weapons were already difficult enough to balance properly as is without any sort of modifications to the weapons via the player.
i actualy agree that cusomization would be nice. i would actualy lik the option to take the scope of the springfield A1 and put it on the enfield No4 or garand
i think a scope would have minimal impact on balance, i agree that mag changes would be bad though a slipery slope argumant is kinda misplaced here.
