Lancaster vs Thompson

Hi all. Just wanted to get you’re thoughts on something.

Is the M1A1 Thompson actually better than the Lancaster.

I actually quite like using the Lancaster and think it’s just as good if not better than the Tommy for a few reasons. The Lancaster has more base ammo, better recoil, much higher muzzle velocity and 2 extra rounds per clip.

Also I prefer the iron sights on the Lancaster.

Thoughts?

Upgraded Thompson is quite easy to use and has a damage of 8.2. Thats a 2 hit to down even at a considerable distance. Much better at assaulting positions.
The Lancaster is (slightly) better as a defensive weapon where cover is more readily available so precision is key.

Thompson for better damage
Literally anything else for landing your shots without having to lead like you’re playing dodgeball
Thompson still shits on the grease gun tho

I prefer the Thompson, it has more vertical recoil sure, but it’s the easiest to manage. It’s horizontal recoil is also the lowest, wich makes it easier to control.

But what’s really important with this weapon is the damage it can dish out. It’s fantastic.

Edit: oh, and it’s also a very sexy gun.

I’m still stuck on the sten. It sounds so sexy. Also I blame the movie “the eagle has landed” for my love of the sten.

To break your love glasses, know it was said of the Sten “That it’s made of shower pipes” !

In my experience, 27 recoil is not as bad as it looks, I can take out mgs inside the bunkers easily with Thompsons from the beach in D Day.

Since I don’t need that accuracy for CQC, and I need the firepower for mid range, Thompson is my choice.

Oh I know how it was made. Was damn near tempted to make one on the farm as a young man :p.

Still loves it

more than anything else you want to go full british so lee-enfield 4 and lanchaster oh mix with yankee (i go full brits and ita)

I think that is actually a pretty fair point. Thompson hits much harder at range. I’m sometimes a bit surprised when I kill someone 50+ metres away with a decent burst.

I use both and quite like both weapons. Looking forward to the drum mag open sights variant of the Thompson though as that will be a significant upgrade.

Eheh wish Italians could get one or two of those, just so I could use a rename card and name a guy Al Capone…
