With all due respect, this take feels like it came entirely from the Practice Range and nowhere else — and I think you know as well as I do that the Practice Range is a single-player sandbox where every target sits completely stationary, side-on, with its barrel profile presented to you on a silver platter. That has almost nothing to do with what happens in an actual match.
The Kugelblitz is a BR3 SPAA with paper-thin armor. In a real game, trying to sneak this thing close enough to a same-tier tank to pull off a clean barrel bust is borderline suicidal. You’re talking about closing the gap to 20-30 meters against vehicles that will almost always be facing directly toward you. If you pull that off against an aware opponent, they frankly deserved it. Most of the time, you’ll be engaging at 100 meters or more, against frontal armor, with a gun barrel that’s angled or partially obscured — and at those ranges, the dispersion on the twin 30mm cannons means your shells are going everywhere except precisely where you want them. The Practice Range never taught anyone that lesson.
Now, can the Kugelblitz shred some tanks at close range? Sure — but ask yourself which tanks we’re actually talking about. It’s almost always someone who brought a low-BR vehicle into a match it has no business being in. That’s not the Kugelblitz being overpowered. That’s the game’s own matchmaking rules delivering a well-deserved slap to players who think taking a T-26 against King Tigers is a viable strategy. There’s a reason the community treats stuff like that as a running joke rather than a balance concern. If you queue a tin can into a BR where 30mm autocannons exist, you’re going to get opened up — and that’s a punishment for poor vehicle selection, not proof that an SPAA needs its barrel damage nerfed.
And let’s not forget the opportunity cost here: every team only gets two tank slots. Bringing a Kugelblitz means you’re occupying one of those precious slots with a vehicle that has zero meaningful anti-armor capability beyond this extremely niche barrel-busting trick. That alone is a hefty price to pay. If someone still manages to make it work in a real match, more power to them — they earned it.
I don’t own the Kugelblitz myself, so I’m not here trying to protect my investment. I just don’t want to see the suggestions forum flooded with takes that were theorycrafted in a vacuum and presented as balance issues, while ignoring every practical factor that keeps this vehicle firmly in check during actual gameplay. Let’s keep the feedback grounded in reality, yeah?
If it really needs a change, the answer isn’t a performance nerf — it’s a BR bump. Move it to BR4, keep everything else exactly as it is. Its 30mm cannons will still do their job against aircraft, but the ground targets at that tier won’t be as vulnerable to getting their barrels stripped. Simple, clean, nobody’s purchase gets invalidated.
