Taking into account the battle ratings of similar and comparable rifles elsewhere in the game, like the Type Hei LMG and the rest of the FG-42 family of rifles. I believe it would make more sense to move this weapon down to BR 4.
Even among the other option for a BR 5 paratrooper squad for germany, the Krieghoff FG remains weak when compared to other BR 5 select-fire rifles within the other nations in the game.
A comparable case can be seen with the Type Hei LMG which is a variant of a BR5 rifle with more reserve ammo and a shield, the Krieghoff FG is a variant of the standard FG-42 rifle but the only differences are the ammo reserve and the much lower firerate.
I do agree that the type hei lmg should be BR5 but I really think the Krieghoff is too weak among the current selection of select-fire rifles, just by comparing its stats with the normal FG-42 you can see this.
While the FG might be a bit worse in BR 5 it still is very potent and to strong for BR 4.
Any SF rifle itself is powerfull and since they down in a single shot the rof is less important so the biggest downside is also a strenght in a way since you can make each shot count.
things like this are Pandora´s box, we only move Krieghoff today, AVT-40 tomorrow, M2 carbine the day after and before we know it, BR3 is unplayable because of the SF rifle spam in BR4.
I love the gun as well, but since I rarely use my paratroopers I hardly use it. If premium squad weapons weren’t locked and you could transfer weapons from squad to squad I would use it all the time.
Yep, not only because I desperately want a German paratrooper in my BR II-III lineup with MP 40s, there are also so many premium/event squads I want to ‘fix’.
I hate paratroopers dropping with MGs, it’s so dumb, and I want a Vickers K on my other squads as well at the same time. This is but one example.
