An airborne unit with automatic rifles is already available at BR IV – specifically, the Japanese “1st Yokosuka” squad. Moreover, the Japanese “counterpart” (they can’t be directly compared since they don’t fight alongside each other, but still) has a higher rate of fire, and despite the constantly lifting bolt-handle, it generally feels more comfortable to play.
This unit is extremely rare to encounter – it feels like the Japanese or allied players use IV–V BR paratroopers much more often
Also, I really love collecting paratrooper and Luftwaffe units. It’s a shame that new users don’t have all those units (Wehrmacht, SS, Luftwaffe) that old players have. At least bring them back as event rewards – otherwise it turns out that people don’t have Charlemagne, Nordland, or the 3rd Parachute Division, though this also applies to the US side. Too many divisions have been replaced for some reason with complete no-names from the Pacific
I think if you lower the BR but don’t touch the gun itself – it would end up being, overall, a squad that belongs at BR IV. Discuss.
It’s not used as much because there was a better free event squad. The Japanese BR4 is not the norm as it is a shielded Type Hei BR5 weapon…Japanese TT needs help, this is a way they get it. And that squad is OP because of it if you get a downteired match.
Just unlock the weapons and let players use them in what ever BR level they want, you know, kind of like the Dev’s did with the Soviet Parachute squad.
I think unlocking the weapon SLOT, but not the weapon, might be the way to go. So you can equip anything to the squad and use them in any br, but the weapon itself is still locked to the squad and can’t find be used by others. Maybe a compromise.
You might be right. I guess it depends on the preference in this case. Some people prefers Hei automatic over other SF despite it having relatively low damage for other benefits. All i’m saying is that, Krieghoff definitely won’t be a broken SF rifle on BR 4 due to low RPM i think.
Tbh it’s better to buff this gun rather than power creep br4, people start asking to down rank some other select fires too. It would be better to make this weapon laser accurate and give higher damage
There’s already SF in BR 4 which is AKT-40 but yea, just buff Kreighoff to have tighter dispersion and/or even slightly higher damage and keep it on BR 5 would works too.
personally I wouldn’t move the friegoff to BR 4: the akt has a low RPM as well, with ten rounds, but quite bad horizontal recoil, and a lower damage. It’s definitely weaker than the kriegoff, but more competitive than any BR 4 semi auto.
