They were removed quite a while ago.

I vote for no kill cam.

Just voted, I’m a little annoyed more people voted for some kind of kill cam in squads than in lone wolf.

I don’t want any in either, but it makes even less sense to me to have one in squads than in lone wolf.

Squads basically already HAS something akin to a kill cam mechanic… you literally have other squad members on the spot. The second I’m downed, I switch to a squad member, and immediately look to counter fire whomever shot me, and half the time, the bot is already looking and firing the right direction. If your squad is picked off completely before you get downed, and you can’t switch, then there’s kinda no point in a kill cam, you have to respawn way at the back anyway.

In short, I see literally zero purpose to having a kill cam. The switch to squad member mechanic is already insanely dangerous to the other player, it’s why I’m so desperate to down a whole squad as fast as possible. I can literally SEE the enemy player switching squad member to counter fire at me. I feel like this is reasonably dangerous enough as it is, to add a kill cam on top of that would be excessive.

PS, it would also make sniper class way harder to play (just as it is in most FPS games that have kill cams). In this game, I don’t think snipers need any particular nerf. I’ve had some really good games in them, but I’ve also been singled out and killed rather quick by motivated enemies, they aren’t particularly OP.

And, snipers SHOULD be stealthy. As well as any other class in which you successfully sneak. If realism is what you’re going for, well… Getting killed and respawning already gives you more detail about where an enemy is than the next rando would have IRL. It would add unrealism to include some kinda premonition about who killed you, then go hunt that person down. I can already do that to some degree just based on the hit direction marker, or if I happen to be looking in the right direction to see the tracer.

i almost entirely agree with you but i still think theres a slight problem with people being able to sit in a bush or foliage, where they can see just about everything theyre looking at, while a person trying to counteract that can only see a shot coming from a general direction in some woods or bushes, from a realism standpoint, youre 100% ON THE DOT, but from a gaming standpoint its an unfun ā€œmechanicā€ that in turn makes it so players that are less skilled are essentially gifted kills by hiding inside bushes the entire match

Killcam needs to go, period. It makes flanking and other things useless. Right now, you are being punished for trying to play tactical, and very much favors the run & gun CoD playstyle.

It is your AI unable to keep quiet what makes flanking hard, or not?
I like to see who was the bastard who ended my struggle for survival.

That’s the extreme small and tactically unfavorable cap points in my opinion. And the missing discussion between squads. And the absolutely hot paced arcade game style. And the random matchmaking where you have no idea which map you’ll get so can’t prepare your squads, and have no idea what do others bring.

And occasionally maybe the killcam.

Players have multiple ā€˜lives’ aka. backup squad members and a killcam just don’t mix. All it causes is players chasing down their killer, which they now magically know the location off. I often get revenge kills by shooting through many bushes and other vegetation, cause the killcam showed me precisely where that player was.

The AI unable to stay quiet doesn’t help, but what if you could tell them to keep quiet? You shoot 1 soldier and that entire flank was for nothing since your position is now shown to the player you just shot and most likely instantly put a mark on it.

However, you stated that you like to see ā€œthe bastard that killed youā€, which makes me wonder why? So that you instantly know his location and get that revenge kill? If so, there’s little point discussing this with you further.

I guess you’re for the realistic mode then, I would like that introduced too.

Yes. For the ā€˜edge of tomorrow’ feeling exactly. I’m not an especially good player, so when on fifth attempt I can finally kill someone hiding in the attic (to be insta-killed by his second life) is something that none of the other games give me.

Of course you wipe out the entire squad and problem solved, or not shoot if you want to hide. I have much more problem with not knowing why I died, there are lots of sneaky players and this is perfect counter-measure for camping bush-wookies or to avoid walking in front of snipers for too long.

Don’t get it wrong, I could live without killcam as well, but I don’t consider it too bad, the game is fast paced enough that I know I need to change position to be able to trick the "next iteration’, and if that fails I’ll be in game a few seconds later again.

If killcam is gone, you’ll need to get some direction marker where you were hit from, so you’re not much better flanking as long as you’re not against lone fighters not speaking with each other. As I see this game is also about fast retaliation: you have the killcam, you have the tracers, you can throw back the grenade etc.

Ack.
