Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa - War History

Japan can use all the help it can get and the KI-43 would at least give variety to japan. Already in Warthunder it would not be that hard to add to enlisted just a port job. KI-43-2 with 2 250KG bombs would make a great BR1 attacker. KI-43-3 with 2 100KG bombs would make a great BR1 fighter. technically three planes, but on one air frame.

The II and III can fight over who is event and who is tech tree while the I can get a sexy skin and be made premium hangar bate for the collector. I and II are clearly BR1 while the III would struggle at br3 even with 2 250 KG bombs. While Japan lacks tanks in warthunder a lot of planes still need to be brough over to enlisted. The Ki-43-III Ko actually has superior flight performance compared to A6M5

the otsu would be fine at BR2 with one 250kg bomb, or even at br3 with two
43-II would be fine at br2 with both big bombs to make up for shit guns
43-I probably doesn’t need added, not good enough and japan has enough garbage low br planes

Japan has two planes at br 1

E1a3
1 7.7mm gun
4 60kg bombs

A5m4
2 7,7mm guns
2 60kg bombs barley a monoplan

The ki 43 1
2 100 kg bombs
2 7.7mm guns would be a vast improvement

It does have 3 br2 planes but the ki43 1 could easily be forced into br1

You know, after reviewing what’s already present, sure, the ki-43-1 makes sense for BR1. It’s been so long since I used most BR1 equipment that I just couldn’t imagine flying it, two rifle caliber mgs is insufficient against enemy aircraft, but having decent bombs at br1-2 that doesn’t require a carrier takeoff would be dope

Thats Ki 44 not 43 with the 40 mm cannons.

But Ki 44 and Ki 43 will be nice addition and they even had rocket variants:
