Just some words

I am starting to think that since we left Moscow CBT this game and especially the devs turned into a shitshow. Since I only had the chance to test Moscow and not Alpha Berlin, I am not able to realize the whole process of decadence here. I just want to share my thoughts here.

1. Advertisement for the game.
Since other players already mentioned it for a million times already, this is going to be short.

Quotations from the website:

The weaponry, soldier’s uniform, appearance and capabilities of the vehicles in the game are in line with historical facts.

Yet we have many non-historical guns and vehicles which are (mostly) not even behind premium or BP or the Summer Event. I do not think we have to go through this again as this is already a running-gag here, but I just want to remark that all this started with the Panzer III B (and the BA which was removed until OBT). Any words from the devs? Just about the Jumbo, and they more or less just said the Jumbo will stay. So why do you still advertise with the historical accuracy thing, although this is not the case here anymore? Is this is just a bait to get frustrated players from BFV and Heroes and Generals etc.? WW2 and men only skins are not enough, sorry.

Same about uniforms. The majority of the uniforms (Berlin, Normandy and Tunisia) are (still) not correct and still look very poorly made and “decided” (e.g. German squads who wear paratrooper uniforms, although they are not a para-regiment).

Let’s go on with the class descriptions, shall we?
The Shotgun Class still exists in the description despite being merged with Assaulter, but just a little remark. Both the Rifleman and the Sniper should not have automatic weapons in their arsenal according to you, yet they do (and no, just putting a automatic gun on semi-fire does not make it a “semi-automatic” rifle"). Only the Assaulter should have automatic weapons (aside LMGs and battle rifles) yet almost all unscoped rifle-using classes can use FG, AVS and M2. I wasn’t able to find any comments of the devs about it, so why did you change the meta @Keofox (especially since I think it’s one of the main reasons why the campaigns are turning more and more into automatic shitshows)?

It is also funny is that you advertise with the IS-2, although the IS isn’t in game (yet).

2. Communication
This is in my opinion my biggest disappointment here. In the CBT the devs were way more active with the community. This was especially a good thing for tracking down bugs. In my opinion the devs were way faster fixing bugs in CBT compared to today. Best example is the buggy Sturmpistole (although this is highly relevant for the balance) FW auto-cannon bug which hasn’t been fixed at all despite dozens of threads about it and remarks from a dev that they are going to fix it (which never happened until today). The latest statement of Keofox that they read (and maybe even react to) hot threads and moments later when he asked if they are any threads about the FW made it clear (for me) that they stopped interacting with the forum at all (or the team has a poorly communication style. I do not know which is worse, lol), even the bug-fixing sectors. The same goes e.g. for the removal of retraining points which NO ONE asked for or the latest nerf of the PTRD. Why did you do that? Do you have evidences that it was “highly-requested”?

I also have the feeling that they have some sort of French-Nobility communication style when it comes to interacting with the community. They never justify their decisions with anything except “we listened” to your feedback or “muh statistics” and when people get mad about it, they demand respect and (pretend to) wonder why people write nasty comments. The same goes for transparency, as we do not know 95% of the time what you guys are actually doing or when we will face new updates. Even the end of the BP isn’t a safe date anymore with its delays during Tunisia.

3. Latest updates
Let’s come to this part. The way how the new logistic system for soldiers and the new level system was implanted was… a mess. It was half-finished, no one was informed when the update will come and how the new system would look aside “less RNG” (which isn’t the case here). While restricting the way how people can gain new soldiers, you did not change the way how people can earn (more) silver orders at all. Also, you did not change the benefits of premium talking about faster academy training (okay you removed it but still) and higher reserve limit are outdated and not useful anymore in the new order. Moreover, you did not implant the ability to sell soldiers for bronze orders (yet). Why releasing the new economy (not even) half-finished? Was there are no reason to say “Let’s wait until everything is releasable”? This is not the first time. Tunisia is full of non-historical uniforms (especially on German side), the tank models are horrible, the cannons and shells are bugged, AI struggles to flank and often just uses the road to get pinned down by tanks, the new faces are also a total mess, the clip-bug with two 5-clip using guns (Lee-Enfield, G41 and M1941) is still present in the campaign or the (already mentioned) FW bug. I won’t even talk about the retarded and non-respectful CBT-policy we already had with Berlin. Tunisia (despite my love for the British and the M14 here) is a complete mess and could have been avoided if you would listen to our feedback and stop releasing half-bugged campaigns for the sake of time and money.

The best thing is the latest nerf of custom lobbies. Not even the nerf itself, but the way HOW fast you reacted here to nerf something which hurted nobody except… you?

Looks like you have your priorities…

Which is a good sentence to end this post I guess. I still like Enlisted, but I will never really enjoy it the way I did in the old days of Moscow CBT. Was Moscow CBT nothing but a bait to catch us all?

This is honestly how I’ve started to feel about the game more recently. While I still do like Enlisted as a game and I do have my fun still from time to time. I can’t help but feel… misled in many ways. I was led to believe based on the ads that Enlisted was focusing on “history” and “authenticity” only for the devs to outright be ok with keeping things like the Jumbo in, and just not focusing on authentic aspects like weaponry and uniforms.

And as for the state of the game and the communication from the devs, it all feels so lackluster and half assed. It feels as tho the devs don’t truly listen to anything we say and just try and appease us with these small things. Which take ages in of themselves. All while pushing out mechanics or patches that benefit them at the speed of fuckin light.

Your post is a pretty good summary of how I feel tbh. Especially the bit about their CBT policy and how you felt about the game during the Moscow CBT. Since then it’s just like, idk, it feels like the game’s not on the same path anymore and is just becoming something it shouldn’t. It’s a path that I hope can be changed. But I personally have very little faith for.

pretty much.

although, saying:

unfortunately, that is not true.

not even in the alpha as long i remember they didn’t announced half of the stuff or the ghost changes ( which still occours since then ).

in the beta, no one had a clue on what was going on until a thread appeared out of nowhere telling that this game was going to reach OBT.

since then, they started making more threads.

so, technically they did increased their " activity " but… dunno.

for the rest, it’s basically pretty much true with no exceptions.

i feel like, hype and misinterpretation ( or more like, pour choices of words and generally, marketing ) burned out this title.

the " too much potential " that surrounded this game for such caliber of df ( no, it’s not meant to be an insult )

too many " promises " with a " not clear scope insight " with little execution.
i still prefer it compared to WT, but i’m starting to see a similar pattern. and worse thing, the games keeps getting worse without adressing the main parts that the community still ask about.

( just a few examples, tank models, plane models, hit regs still shite, FW, and the list goes on ).

despite an entire YEAR of bug reports and people suggesting stuff with valid points.
included my self, “”"“fought”""" for a better future, but everywhere i look, i feel a bit sad.

we had one job to " shape " this game, and we failed, or perhaps did not got listened.

can’t really tell. it’s all fuzzy to be honest in my perspective. and you get to a point ( at least for me ) that i can’t even finish the BP for the little interestr i got.

so saturated with this type of models that it’s mainly about struggle and grind.

is that how you see the " historical aspects " of a ww2 game?

ya don’t like sidegrades when comes prem squads or cosmetics?

it’s just lazyness when it comes to important decisions of making the same thing and expecting to go different.

i can’t say anything other than, i’m sorry.

but i’m not going to stay around for too much long to starr at a " dying horse ". which was my favorite " pony " for a while.

guess i’ll make a few suggestions now that i can, but after that, we’ll see.

lol, i made a rant in a rant post.
i’m such a mess.

Another little thought that I’ve been having recently is, “How did we get here?” and “Why are we here?”. And tbh, I think it all boils down to how the devs were allowed by the community to monetize the game. This whole “F2P Model” has led the game and it’s devs down this path where they can use “F2P” as an excuse for everything. Which is something that a lot of the community has supported them in and have even touted the same excuses for A LOT of things that are wrong with the game. Mainly when it comes to the progression of course. But then also as well, a lot of the community is just outright fine with the devs going back on their promises of authenticity and history. All bc it’s a “F2P” game and who cares if it’s not fully authentic.(edit: or another one that I remember being told here in the forum, “You really believe the advertisements you’re shown online”)

It seems that a lot of it is simply the community just being fine with all this and letting DF have their way. Even if that means that their way is going against the way that we were promised and led to believe was going to be the way of the game. And even the F2P model can be traced back to players themselves. Where the community themselves opted for this F2P model, instead of a paid model that would’ve supported the game a different way. If we wouldn’t have allowed the devs to have this “F2P Game” excuse in the first place, then maybe the game as a whole would’ve turned out much different. And possibly more in line with what a lot of us wanted in the first place.

i actually stood up from my chair and started aggressively hand gesturing to my screen when Keofox asked me for a link to a FW bug report

(and btw they said they would fix it a week ago now? and the alternate ways to get silver orders post was almost 2 weeks ago? i feel like fixing the economy system should be a little higher on the priorities list)

I swear it’s basically standard at this point with DF that the updates they say are “coming” won’t be coming until a month or two after they’re posted about. Lol remember when we saw custom games being talked about and posted about all those months ago?

Yes. Just yes.
In CBT I was super hyped for this game. Now I play 4 matches a week during weekends. I think more and more about finding a new game to be my go to FPS.
It’s all very dissapointing.

Same buddy. Which is why I’ve been gravitating towards games like HLL and other WW2 rts games. They’re just so much better without all the additional bs this game comes with. Much better stress relievers and even more fun than Enlisted currently is.

The two latest updates was the final nail in the coffin for this game for experienced players. They already drove away new players with the soldier update.

Well. Everyone has different view I guess. Idk maybe its just me but before OBT they at least were better dealing with bugs than now. Okay, they fix bugs here too but most of time they do not fix bugs mentioned by the community unlike in CBT. Maybe its just my pink googles from the CBT times.

again they should have 1 campaign for every one not just the bolt action sniper bush wookie that never play the objective that just farms kills and the usa had full atuo for troopers/snipers so why cant we have them the only problem is the germans are the only one to abuse this m2 is trash completely

this is your opinion i like ful atuos i hate bolt action right now there so powerful and the fact you unlock a higher tier weapon just to find out its been nerfed to useless then have to use your starter gear on a end teir trooper is just crap why have a leveling system if u dont unlock better stuff so yes full atuos should stay on troops what needs to be done is move m2 to stg level and to assaulter then add Johnson riffle 30 rnd mag for troopers at fg42 level and done the johnson riffle also had a scope for the sniper class

are you gunna open this can of worms your just asking for where’s my perishing thread

i agree 100 percent with you like why did they not add more ways for silver hell they could have added a bundle in the logistics like a starter pack but with silver and bronze order you could have different sized ones for instance buy the small pack of 300 bronze troop/weapon order and 50 silver troop/weapon orders for 6.99 then they would go up from there like the e coins but for orders

100 percent agree

It’s not (necessary) about the auto weapon usage itself or my opinion…
But why don’t they finally change their game description, consider that the description and the game itself are not the same anymore?

(Like I said) My guess is that they either try to attract players who are frustrated with the WW2 competition of Enlisted with historical accuracy, the campaigns etc. because they know that writing that they just have a very rough historical accuracy (now) does not sound very attractive (they lie)…
Or they simply forgot what they actually wrote there.

I also think the Moscow CBT period is the best time. At that time, although the income was not high, it was easy to kill the enemy, and I could easily have the fun of the game. But with a lot of changes after the game’s public beta, many things have changed, such as extremely bad balance, excessive weakening of bombs, and poor trajectory distribution of automatic weapons, all of which make my current gaming experience worse than in the past.
