Me and my friends been playing this game and honestly, this is the game we’ve been looking for. All of us can run it with low-enough specs. But here’s the list of problems we’ve encountered:
Games have been steamrolls, Artillery spam, Tanks spam, and Spawn Camping. There’s no fun losing as you spawn without doing anything can you?
Server and networking issues. Sometimes we’re getting a “Network Connection Disrupted” notice even though we’re constantly in a voice call in discord and none of us going robot due to lag.
Some suspicious player activity. I can’t tell for sure how cheating works in this game but either we still don’t know stuff or there is legit suspicious stuff going on. Getting killed without line of sight do be annoying. No killcam, but the red outlining of the player does help on where they are positioned.
Visibility. Self-explanatory. You can’t see anyone especially if they are proning on a bush or a snowfield on a ditch. If somehow implement a terrain lighting setting or any way to let us see players clearly. Because in the case of an MMO-squad type gamemode, visibility is everything. Not to mention, most guns if not all guns will kill you in one shot in the body so at least we need to see where they are.
Game is fun, and I’d like it to improve and because its Open Beta, I have hopes the performance of the game both in game balance and technical side would improve. But for now, its rather unfun to play due to the amount of spammage in every game.
The mobile spawns placed by players have to respawnprotection for a reason. you can place them basicly close to objectives and its a high risk (depending on position) to spawn there. Best practice would be to place your own spawn points, where you know they are inside a house and cant be sniped from far away.
Realistic visibility I find key here, and to artificially enhance visibility to make it easier to spot someone would be terrible!
Camouflage in all its forms (colour/shape, movement, sound) is the A and O of a battlefield, and that’s one of the things that makes Enlisted so much fun for me. If it would be a game where visibility is less realistic, it wouldn’t be for me.
But important here: That’s just my personal opinion on this.
With experience you get to know where to shoot, especially with automatic weapons. Another factor is that many walls can be shot through so not all cover is fully solid cover.
Enhanced visibility of players, like it’s done in BF, leads to a more twitchy gameplay. In order to avoid getting wiped in ambushes, stick to other squads and don’t rush. In games like this, your main visibility comes from motion. Running/walking is much easier to spot than crouching or crawling.
Sorry, I don’t know about your “appeasing the crying mobs” argument but I find the entire map unnaturally too dark and especially a bit too dark when staring at windows from outside. Sure realistic visibility and all, but is it really realistic when you see nothing but pitch black on a building window from 25m away and bullets spraying to and your friends?
Completely agreed about it being too dark in windows. Looking into a window from outside and not seeing much makes sense, but once it’s open it shouldn’t be a GD black hole in my opinion. Maybe it’s my computer/settings but I can’t seen ANYTHING when looking for enemies in windows.
