Was it ever used in combat?
Either way it would be a cool event weapon. BR II BAR with reduced damage, sort’ve like the RD-44.
This is what it says according to google.
Yes, the Browning “jungle bar,” saw extensive use in World War II. The “jungle BAR” was a shortened version of the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), specifically the M1918A2 variant. It was developed by the U.S. Marine Corps for jungle warfare conditions and was introduced in 1932.
We have lots of experimental and prototype guns already in the game that were never used, along with the Winchester 1866 and 1877 which never sniffed a day of WW2 or WW1 for that matter . So, even it the jungle BAR were never used, it still meets the Dev’s requirements, and since they essentially have no requirements, then just about every weapon qualifies for Enlisted.
Can’t wait for extended mag Glock 17 to be added to Japan…
The sad part is I genuinely would not be surprised if that happened.
Like what idiot came up with the idea of giving Japan a sawn off M2 Carbine??? The M2 was rare amongst Allied troops and the Japanese wouldnt have had time to capture any!
Might as well give the Germans sci fi laser weapons at this point because I saw an AI drawing of a UFO with a German cross on it
Maybe they could slow the Jungle BAR’s rate of fire to 500 and add it to BR2, since BR2 needs an American MG to go along with the UK ones, or just offer up a squad equipped with them, however that would be BP and thus not free which would be more down Gaijin’s alley.
I would rather a lower damage comparable to the RD-44, since it would make more sense from a gameplay and realistic standpoint (shorter barrels obviously having less joules and velocity therefore less damage).
Yeah, the Dev’s opened pandora’s box when they started allowing weapons which never were used in the war.
You know, creating variants of guns shouldn’t even take all that much effort, as they already have an existing model, so all they have to do is some reworking of that model to come up with the Jungle BAR. I used to build tracks and race cars for video games, so I created lots of models, and I could take one car and build countless variants from it once I had the base model created. And creating variants took far less time then creating the first model.
Here is a modified I built way back in 2009, and ended up making half a dozen variants of it.
Cool, I never knew that. So, was it like mods, or were you actually part of the development team? And I just realised now why the devs can’t do anything on time.
They’re Gen Zs that need to take a 10 minute break every 5 minutes to watch TikTok, and they only work 3 out of 7 days a week because “we need more time off than time working for mental health”.
No, there were a lot of people creating cars and mods in developmental teams, but I always just went solo. I was asked a lot to join teams, but l have always been a lone wolf. When you’re in teams, you have to work on what the group wants, and I just wanted to work on what I liked. I’m selfish.
I always did race cars
1970 Dodge Charger Daytona for Nascar I built
Do you have this?)
The Jungle BAR or the car models? I have more car models I made then I can count, but no Jungle BAR.
good idea, and make japs get it too, because, they capture and used a few against americans, like I show in my post: Japan Bar
Because Japan historically captured M1 carbines and converted those, well at least we have photo evidence of at least one such weapon.
These guns were converted to full-auto as well, still they are M1s and not M2s but devs dont give a F about that.
Japan already has a TT BAR.
The KE7 that was used by Manchuria.
Well there is plenty of paper guns in game xD I’m waiting for my type 99 with silencer XD
and?, make it be event for them
we know that Enlisted has worked with many freelance 3D model creators which probably make things a lot harder.
Given how different guns can look, like király 39M and 43M or Ppsh41 and Obrez ppsh, Mauser C96 and Mauser C96 mod 712…
They are the same size and are correct models, but if you look closely at the texture you can notice differences. If these weapons were modeled from scratch even though they already had an in game variant then it is fully possible that modelling the Jungle BAR would take as much effort as any other gun and devs can only maybe save some effort on animations.
The texture is just a picture assigned to a certain part of the model and can be easily changed without any model editing, but has nothing to do with the actual model itself. If the Dev’s built these guns like I built my cars, then they would have each gun model broken down in a folder into individual parts. This way they can edit each part individually, then remap the new textures individually, then put the gun back together under a different gun name. I can’t say they do it the same as I did, but if they did, this wouldn’t be a huge project. This is how I made several variants of the same car, by keeping all the pieces of the model separate and reworking what pieces I needed to.
