Recently I unlocked Tigor in normandy and I noticed that enemy players with 76 can destroy my barrel in one hit. But when I tried to do the same (I still haven’t learned a weak spot to shoot at) I only damage their brels.
What am I doing wrong?

Damage to tank barrels have been bugged today. I believe it’s fixed now!

Same for the Tigor 2 or Panther barrels, devs made them of sugar

Except I unlocked tigor a week or two ago and it’s like that ever since.
German tank guns tend to have a muzzle break and it makes them really easy to snipe. Things like the American 75mm and the 76mm on the M4A1 don’t have a muzzle break, so shooting those are significantly harder because they are smaller, combined with desync issues.

At first I thought the same, but looking at the slow mo xray thing, I realized I did indeed aim correctly each shots.
USA barrels, are more resistant in game. While axis, less.
I believe it’s an ancient balancing rule devs made. Dating back from jumbo vs pz4 or panthers: jumbo has extremely weak tracks, but axis weak barrels… so a smart tanker from whichever side could get the upper hand by aiming well.
That strange rule should probably get revised…

I am not sure that going for the 76’s barrel is a good strategy with the tiger anyway. As with all standard sherman (not the jumbo though), the M4A1 76 and M4A2 76 have pretty weak armour all around. The Tiger should not have any issue destroying them in one shot aimed at their center mass, I would say that this is a more efficient strategy than trying to target their relatively small gun. The Jumbo 75 is another story though, but you can still aim for its MG port while it cannot hurt your crew if it is not aiming at your sides.

My wacky moments…
Today I almost got killed this way.
My team was braindead and didn’t notice enemy tank “on” our spawn.
They were so braindead they allowed enemy squad to build AT gun behind me,near our main rally. When this AT killed me I was a bit annoyed and a bit impressed.
Barrel? What a moron shoot Tiger Barrel with the 76mm when you can one shot it?
Why would those tanks be shooting each others barrels? They can go for the kill shot through the front armor on each other. I mean the 76mm sherman. The jumbo 76 isnt in yet
