"Join any team" should be rewarded

In my opinion if “Join any team” option is enabled player should get +x% to xp gained in a battle. It would have two functions:

  • it would reduce disadvantage player have - because he is not focused on any faction his gained xp is split, unlike focused players who spend all their xp on one side thus have better equipment
  • it would allow to ballance game in terms of population - players would be encouraged to use this option, which will allow game to fill player slots in less populated team

Of course additional xp would have to be large enough. I think +20% is minimum.

Seconding this, matchmaking as it is right now is a recipe for disaster come launch.

I don’t know,
Nation mains will just constantly leave matches until they get their side

While I fully agree with your sugestion, @73507743 is correct in his lack of faith in player´s honour.
Imagine being main of one nation but you just want that sweet xp boost… what is then easier than joining random queue, leaving immediately when you find out that you did not get the nation you main and repeat the whole process. And I also do believe, that random queue will get filled by these players.

What would stop you from doing that and thus ruining the matchmaker by giving one team disadvantage? As long as there is no convincing penalty for leaving the game like that, (insert nation) mains will have no reason to not do that.

As much as I hate punishing players for leaving, there must be a countermeasure against this behaviour if we want to truly reward players who are helping matchmaker by keeping both sides populated.

So that’s what he meant. Than sorry @73507743, I didn’t understand.
About your point - yes, those players will be here but a) nothing is perfect b) it will be only some percentage of players. In my opinion benefits are greater than risk, but maybe I’m too idealistic.
Maybe system where you get -x% xp when you left, lets say, 3 matches in a row in last 15 min. With a nice popup “You have been accused of desertion, your career is questionable”

Firstly, I absolutely love that comical popup.

Secondly, since we can´t just let such person´s entire lineup get shot in the head for treason, xp penalty might work. Especially since it is unlikely that somebody will disconnect three times in three different matches in 15 minutes.
Unless Darkflow wants to copy WT “crewlock” and ban player from playing that same campaign for 10 minutes (which is for a very good reason hated mechanic, because it does not respect game or connection crashes).
Funnily enough, while xp penalty may be rough, the way how Enlisted works limits its option how to impose penalty on dishonest players.

Feels like a short temporary matchmaking ban is the clear solution to this.

The reason I don’t have as much faith is because throughout these 4 months of using the forums I encountered a lot of (nation)boos, to my concern much more than I did in several other war games.

We can only hope for more normal players to come in OBT

On first sight it seems to be a perfect solution… however, based on what we can already see when this is implemented, it is not really so ideal.

Being unable to join new game for the next 5-10 minutes is definitely a thing. I like the base idea to reward people playing random team, through i never do so.

In War Thunder, you can usually reconnect if you get disconnected due to a crash. It doesn’t always work too well due to the game’s more limited spawns, but that shouldn’t be a problem in Enlisted.

Enlisted is built on same engine and thus similar stability is to be expected. I sometimes even get kicked out of the game simply because server hamsters decided to finaly die or dagor crashes, and then get crewlock for that while loosing all the boosters without mercy.

Refining “crewlock” would probably take quite a bit of effort and since we are talking about the small studio that got a lot of ideas from almighty snail, we can also expect this logic ending up copy pasted from WT with all its flaws.
But more refined “crewlock” would definitely work well, since we have more than 1 campaign to play.

Have to agree with that flaw.

Maybe go back to the old suggestion of rewarding it indirectly by giving an xp boost to the side with fewer real players, scaling the boost up the fewer there are.
If the game goes back to the old trend of one faction being seriously underused, the players in the underused faction will progress faster to compensate them and encourage players to hop the fence.

THIS. There should also be a prompt for players to join the team getting ass raped if there are open slots, and reward them 25%+ XP.

As someone who play all sides I can confirm that match maker is broken right now (at least for the moscow campaign it’s way better in normandy) most people play germany so the MM automatically put me 98% of the time in the soviet side, I am rank 3 germany and rank 9 USSR right now…

in normandy todai played 7 matches german won none

All i can say is increase the grind but reward both sides with xp gain and tickets when you join any one side…plus add xp gain more if you join with anyone…will really help the match making

What it has to do with what I said?

Mains have no incentive to play other side too. Random matchmaker helps to balance both sides instead of filling spots with bots.

what can you say about my suggestion above?
