Japanese tanks should be able to make use of the gunner MG by switching views

My buddies and I have started sinking more time into the Japanese side on the Pacific campaign. Until now I never realized that the Japanese tanks that have a machinegun on the side of the turret are incapable of using them.
Considering that the Americans have fairly strong tanks in comparison (especially the SPAA with armor that actually protects the gunner from the front), I think this detail could actually make a pretty big difference in balance. After all, the only other tanks of note appear to be the premium tank and the last tank unlocked by the Japanese, that are amphibious and can make a decent difference in some areas.

Please consider enabling the gunners to “switch views” to make use of the side machineguns!

I have most of the Japanese tanks, including the premium ones, the Japanese machine guns suffer from the same problem, that most of the Axis do, ridiculously short, overheating times and long reloading times.

The 37 mm guns cannot kill the M13 As fast as it’s 50 calls can kill them, So you really can’t dual with them.

The amphibious tanks are neat, but they’re very hard to hit with if you’re in the water because they move around. It’s hard to get on target, a way around this is the kind of Beach them, if you can just touch something with one of the tracks, it will stabilize the vehicle. You’ll still be on the water in a smaller target.

When the pacific first came out, they were a lot of fun the amphibious tanks, but when players started building six pounders all over the place, and one shotting them, it became a lot less fun.

The downside to the premium amphibious tank, of course is, it’s enormous, but the gun is halfway decent. Of course there’s no coaxial machine gun.

yes you can, its easy, just shoot the gunner

That does work, but it doesn’t work all the time, like I said, you can’t dual with them, the 50’s will kill your crew faster than you can kill there’s most of the time.

And for a starter tank the M13, remains largely lethal against all of the Japanese tanks

The ground 50 call’s are universally op imo, not just against tanks but against planes as well, they just deal to much damage per round.

It seems like machineguns are more effective than against infantry, than japanese tank guns.

The Japanese tank guns are actually more effective against infantry than their machine guns are, because of the long reload times for the machine guns, and the ridiculously short overheating times.

But this true of many other nations tanks as well.

The thing is though, that this premium tank DOES have a machine gun, but its on a different side of the turret. That if the gunner turned in his position, he could access it!

Here’s the thing though: Especially with the second tank for the Japanese, if the gunner was allowed to change his view angle, and access the MG on the side, you could potentially alternate fire between the two, pretty much solving the reload issue!

WTF, which Enlisted did you play? The Japanese tank machine gun never overheat because it only has 20 round so you need to change magazine before it overheats. Long reload time? How is 3s reload considered long? It is similar to regular infantry machine gun, wanna compare it to the Italian mg with 8s of reload time?

In the Ha-Go, I find using the hull MG more effective than the main gun.

That’s specifically why I posted this. There is a SECOND MG on the Ha-Go according to the model and xray. However for some reason you are not able to use it! If you could, you could alternate between them to keep effective MG fire going.

I agree, the Ha-Go needs as many features as it can get because YIKES.

I absolutely hate that most Japanese tanks have additional MG positions but they’re purely decorative (especially the tanks that have additional passengers that just sit inside doing nothing till someone dies so they can take their place).
Like there’s ones with perfectly good rear view guns that would otherwise be used to prevent rambos from sneaking up but, they’re not functional; removing the perk of having the rear gun present in the first place.
