After acquiring the new squad and seeing what its launcher looks like, I started thinking about how similar it is to the Arisaka Mortar specifically because the size of the launch tube and after doing some research, I find that the Type 89 mortar could also fire incendiary rounds. I think this would be an interesting addition for a squad event like this, especially considering that Japan hasn’t received anything significant in a long time.

I couldn’t find images that definitively confirm those are the incendiary type, as the colors varied slightly depending on the manufacturer; however, smoke or gas projectiles were generally identified by blue or purple coloring. If anyone has more information, please feel free to share it.

For this purpose, a version installed on a shortened rifle can be added.

The main thing is that it has normal ballistics.
Unfortunately, Arisaka Mortar’s are terrible.

I didn’t know that one existed, but it looks good.
Yeah, I like that one better too. It looks more like an RMN and is definitely more unique than another bolt-action rifle with a tin can on the muzzle.

Yeah, I noticed they’re slow. We should start by improving the reload making it more like grenade-launcher rifles so you don’t have to reload the grenade and the bullet one at a time, which makes it really slow, or at least give it a decent ammo capacity. After all, you wouldn’t be able to use it as a standard rifle once you run out of rounds.
I honestly don’t know how to do that XD. I had already tried, but I didn’t understand the process or what needed to be modified in the code to get the post to go up though that wasn’t for this specific post; it was for one I wanted to make about semi-automatics for the TT
Yeah, it looks lighter too; as long as it has a steady reload speed, it would be a good piece of gear for a nine-soldier squad.

The main problem is poor ballistics.
RMN is much better.

One way to compensate for that would be to give the round a large blast radius, or an effect similar to white phosphorus grenades where even the fumes deal damage either that, or maybe the developers can be generous to “fix it” for this version, which… is unlikely to happen.
If you remember the developers’ attitude towards Japan… none of this will happen.

Unfortunately, yes. Honestly, just considering the addition of something new and not for the Soviets or the US would be a big step forward. For the current “Reinforcements” event, they could easily have given us at least 3 or 4 tickets; after all, one faction gets not just a new weapon but an entire well-equipped squad, whereas the others have to settle for two weapons, getting at most one of each type, or two depending on preference. I personally would have preferred a semi-auto for Japan instead the KE7 (50), the Type Hei Late for example

This is the incorrect category for it, we don’t take suggestions from game discussion
But i’ve already noted this gun anyways
