History:
Ivan Klimanov, enlisted in 1941, graduated in military aviation pilot school in the same year. He participated in a huge amount of battles: Rzhev-Sychevsk, Oryol, Spas-Demensk, Yelninsk-Dorogobuzh, Smolensk-Roslavl, Orzha, Vitebsk, Mogilev, Minsk, Bialystok, Lomzha-Ruzhanska and the Berlin Operation.
During the great patriotic war, he used to fly over 280 times in a LaGG-3, La-5, a Yak 3 and a P63-Kingcobra. During his 60 battles, he shot down 17 fighter planes and 6 enemy bombers. After the war he did not stop his career and continued to work as a soviet aviation squadron commander and flew with the Yak-9 and Mig-15. He earned the medal of the hero of the soviet union.
