It's time to de-nerf AAA

Four separate nerfs have been applied to Anti-Air, each one without the previous ones being undone. With the new BR system having all of a nation’s best planes in the air at once on top of the gimped counter tool, the only answer to planes right now is to have a good fighter pilot on your team and hope he sees the enemy first. I’m actually seeing tier I SPAA in tier V because the emplacements are so bad. It’s time to remove the AA nerfs, and add some better emplacements.

AT guns get better with BR so should AA guns as well. Bring back the flak 38 vierling.

The lead indicator makes AA problematic, if it wasn’t arcade settings and it actually took some semblance of skill to shoot down planes i’d see them removing unrealistic overheating which would allow someone that knows what they are doing to shutdown airspace.

Other problem is most ppl don’t really want to fly back and rearm, so whats even the point of fighters if you have about 10-15 seconds to kill enemy planes after they spawn before they drop their load and crash into the ground? Not to mention putting yourself in a posistion to intercept said planes is basically a death sentence as you’ll most likely instantly get 3rd partied or punished by a 10 sec respawn on your 6. Same goes for AA, unless you snipe the pilot all you managed to do in reality was get a kill on someone that already dropped bombs and was going to suicide OR if they were dumb enough to fly back and rearm, you just put an entire enemy inf squad in play for 1-2 minutes they otherwise wouldn’t be.

Even more so than tanks because AA doesn’t need a clear shot on the battlefield. I’ve seen this with emplacements but also Ta-Se tanks, where they’re so far from the battle that none of my team can harm them and I cannot give any ground support at all since they fire at me the moment they hear my engine.

I’m all for AA cannons becoming more viable, but they also desperately need more counterplay or they’ll become a very toxic gameplay component.

You can counter them if you have an AT rifle

What I mean is: They can sit in a place that the enemy team cannot get line of sight on from within the playable zone. Tanks need to fire at the battlefield in a straight line so you can also see them from the battlefield, but AA needs to shoot up so if there’s a large obstacle between it and enemy infantry, all the better.

Well then that means some players will need to learn how to do high altitude bombing to avoid the AA guns then

As I’ve said before, they need to change up the Engineer Squad “unique” fortifications a bit.

  • The AT field gun needs to be moved to the AT squad exclusively (and get larger versions for the higher tiers)

    • The current AA guns need to be moved into that slot as “AC” or “Autocannons” that are mounted on the wheels like how the AT field guns are. They will be directional then, but more intended for ground targets at this point. (Again, larger versions at higher tiers.)
      • In the place of the current AA guns, we get flak type cannons. Something with considerably more power, and more range. (This will allow ground units to adequately deal with bomber raids too!!!)
        Similar to current, these should NOT be able to angle down.
        NOTE:
        The larger AA weaponry like this would be considerably easier to spot, so if a team has any degree of teamwork and spotting, they should be quite easy to eliminate.

When I first started playing this game I would have called you crazy for trying to de-versify the engineer squad, but having played my way up, I think you have a point. AT squads are something you grind out the soldier levels on and forget for the rest of the game right now, and that’s not a good thing. If they gave the more potent AT emplacements to the AT squad and made the engineers more AA/fortification focused, we might actually start to use AT squads again!

You don’t need to counter them if they lose the game by camping far from the cap

Though I am the kind of guy who build my AA inside the cap though
