It's time AI got the attention it needs

Enlisted is a great game and its main mechanics are somewhat novel, however, the artificial intelligence in this game is mediocre and it is ironic that of all the mechanics that the game has, the most neglected is just its main attraction. The game is practically 3 years old and I think it is time for AI to be an IMPORTANT priority to improve in 2024.

I know that programming a decent AI can be complicated, but with enough time and dedication, they can do a great job. If games from past generations have superior AI, why couldn’t Enlisted have it?

I love their work and I really hope that the AI ​​is one of the main improvements in this year’s game and does not become something extremely secondary, as happened with the 2023 roadmap

I think many here have played CoH2 and know about its directional cover system.

That is what the AI needs.

Essentially, AI will do two new things:

  1. When given a movement order (global, not personal), AI will seek out nearby cover and sit on the side of it that is closest to the order location.

  2. When being shot at, AI will seek out cover and sit on the opposite side of where the shots came from.
