It’s not WILLIE, there is no WILLIE, it’s William. This is from Few Good Men? This is where you guys got WILLIE from? lolol
Seriously, US names on Normandy were made by some Russians, or Lithuanians lol
It AINT MIKEY, it’s Michael, it’s not ED, it’s Edward.
US names need major rework, and break immersion.

THIS is TONY, well, bullet tooth TONY.
But the real, full name is Anthony, see. But saying Tony is not proper.
but you can give them names through call signs orders.
or pay to change them.
Now I want to see Sanya instead of Alexander. Or Vityok instead of Victor. And Mishanya instead of Michail.
And here comes the reason for the name change tickets.
So you can name all your soldiers into Chuck Norris.

Right, but still, like who thought this is good for American names? Ronnie? I’m sure they’ve heard of Ronald Reagan, lol even in Lithuania. Just kidding.
My Normandy US team is like all Ronnie’s, and Ed’s, and Mikey’s.

My dudes in general have a normal name. Like my main guy Michael Knight aka kit (really happy with that) dont really notice that much short names really.
it’s fairly standard for Americans to call each other by informal names.
I have an uncle we call Joe and an older cousin that goes by Ronnie (probably because that is what his WW2 veteran father called him). warzone buddies are similarly informal with each other.
not sure why you are trying to make a big deal out of something that is not a big deal.
