I can think of several more appropriate crew-served weapons that could/should be added, before a hand-cranked MG from the last century…

Since we’ll likely see the Vickers Mk I added as a buildable for Commonwealth squads, and fairly soon, the next obvious thing to do is give Italy their equivelant, as the only ones lacking their own.

Yes, pretty sure Mr Gatling used to build farming tools, and he turned one of his “seed distributors” into a weapon during the US civil war.

The modern equivalent you are thinking of is the minigun…and that’s well into the cold war.
