It would be nice to know what equipment would be in what "BR" ahead of time

In anticipation of the major changes coming up soonish. It would be nice to know which equipment might be categorized/grouped together. Either by era or by their battle rating.

For example, I am pretty partial to my Churchill tank. Its not the best tank out there, but I enjoy it’s design and small benefits. In the Normandy campaign it sits about level 17 in the “tech” progression.

Does this mean that if I want to create a load out surrounding the Churchill that I should start decking out weapons around that level? It has been made clear that even equipment within the same campaign may not end up in the same rating. So how far above 17 can my tech be? If the rating can even be compared in that way…

Are things like large ammo and large grenade pouches included in the rating? Will I need small ones to fit the rating?

It would be great to give us some guidelines early so we can start preparing.

I would also like to know the conversion rate of silvers/bronze to new currency ahead of time

Nice to have the information earlier, but I do not want release of undecided information limit the creativity and space to adjust of the developers.

Everything before official release is subject to change and further optimisation, but some rating, performance, or economic related data might be misunderstood as promise by some players, and they will put extra pressure on the developers to stop further improvement, just for their own short term interest.

There will be changers after game releases anyway. Propaply not as big but still.

I don’t want some bs number now when they still are working on it.
But like 1-2 weeks before update drops, let us know how will it look.

Last major economy change with academy and bronze change - they said to keep playing and that weapon parts will be compensated - so i scrapped a bunch of them - update drops and weapons that were not scrapped for parts could be sold for way more than 1 bronze for 10 parts compensation
This is just annoying and screwed many people over.
If You spend all bronze and didn’t scrap anything You made 10x profit on bronze orders

We just don’t want to be screwed again

I don’t really like this “battle rating” system because I think it will get messy and convoluted, however I am willing to test the waters. However I’m pretty sure the devs will have a lot to work on

I do understand that even mere weeks before the update that details are bound to change, but being given a general idea at the very least would be nice.

Besides, I am sure they will be making tweaks and changes for years after the patch too.

It worked out fine for War Thunder. Although it often involved having tanks fight each other that never fought each other historically.

Game play balance simply has to come first sometimes.

I think the battle rating will be good for the game. Especially for newer players. Running into a fight with a squad of bolt action rifles just to be mowed down by a single player with a top tier weapon, grenade launchers, or anti infantry mines can be discouraging.

Or driving out into battle with a bottom tier tank just to run into a jumbo or tiger. Sure, an experienced player could handle those two just fine, but a new player would be at a total loss. This new match making should help limit that happening, which will be better for all. (other than for those who liked stomping less geared players)

From the devblog last Friday, the developers is already introduced “period of war and year of production” constraint for a better compromise between balancing and historical accuracy. I think this partially historical corrected rating based matchmaking is the best way to solve balancing and grinding problem on current player count, without too much lost of immersive feeling.

For the future Enlisted may have different option of game mode like in War Thunder, and we will able to chose “Realistic Battle” to join a more strictly historical accurate game, and another option “arcade” can provide fast-pace and more diversity. But we need to have enough player count for that separated queue.

That’s a fair point however I see it getting convoluted how they draw lines with all the different factors they have to balance. To give a few examples,

Should the Puma be available in Berlin? Theoretically yes, it was in service already and I’m sure some were defending Berlin. However some would say no because they’d be absolutely obliterated by the Soviet tanks. Some people would want Berlin to be a juggernaut slugfest, others would use whatever whenever. The same could be said for future vehicles like the Sd.Kfz 234/1 or 3

If I add a Puma to my roster am I never gonna see Berlin ever in matchmaking.

I’m more of a sandbox player. I don’t mind seeing Stuarts and Tigers or Pumas and IS 2s or whatever in the same match. Every vehicle has its purposes and roles. And some players just play whatever they’re in the mood for.

We will have improved custom match as the developers said, that is going to be a good platform for sandbox play style.

In your opinion how do you feel about my example. Like for the new default matchmaking should the Puma be available in Berlin.

Or for the current campaign system should the Puma have been added, or do you think the balance “meta” supersedes that

This is a difficulty question for now, because I have not researched the history, I can not give a clear answer now.

But from the latest devblog, I think it is possible when you have high battle rating equipment in your squad line-up as well as a puma, because puma is in production before battle in berlin happened.

For the current system maybe not, as I know at least puma is no longer in massive use at that time and area.

I imagine they’ll be based on the max star number each piece of equipment has, for vehicles I imagine they’d use current WT br ratings as a base, just speculation on my part tho and I agree that it’d be nice if they gave us an outline of what’ll be at what level so we can develop loadouts beforehand, if they don’t just save up your silver orders and adjust once the patch comes

Saving up our orders is risky. We have no idea how much value they will lose (or gain) in the transition into the new system. I would rather try to get some equipment together now while I know its doable. I just need to decide what.

In my particular case. I think I would be safe with Garands and grease guns. They should be roughly the same tech level of a Churchill. If not lower. They are not terrible weapons either. M1s are not terrible either after their recent buff. So maybe some M1s with grenade launchers.
