Flamethrower can still be very effective in closed space such as building or bunkers (which is realistic)
It is true that in some instance you get killed by ai even before the flame ever touches enemy
thus I think by increasing the velocity of flame ray the problem with reaction time can be fixed
They do get sturned. just bring a molotov to testing range, set you on fire and try to aim.
It’s mostly people once get on fire they spray all their bullet toward the source of flame and that’s what kills you.
Or an ai/other player nearby that see the flame ray and shoot you.
This I agree. the flame effect right now is kinda exagerated and can’t see shit through
maybe more transparent or a smaller visual flame (without chaning its actual hitbox) would be good

Yeah, I think first of all, removing the movement speed penalty when firing is a must.
To summarize:
- Make the flames more transparent
The flamethrower fire acts like a visual blocker. The white hitmarkers overlap with the flames, so you can’t tell if you hit anyone, and you can’t see the enemy. Once enemies are on fire, they can’t run away anyway. The flame is as bright as a light bulb, so the first thing players do is shoot to “break” it. I want to tone it down and make it less visible.
- Increase the flamethrower projectile speed
- Give burned enemies more hip-fire shake from pain, while also making them move and reload faster due to shock.
- Increase the number of flamethrower soldiers to 3 per squad. BR5 is extremely intense; even in BR3 I don’t get 100 kills in 10 minutes like I do in BR5.
Anyway, the flamethrower is an offensive class, way better than those behind-enemy-line spy units.

Even whichout the flamethrower it’s already a 7 men squad, way more helpful for team than whose stupid saboteur bs.
I’m just cautious buffing flamethrower, cuz I remember how strong it was when it was firstly added
