Hi all,
I noticed since a few days that my KV 2 (the premium edition) doesn’t do much damages. I shoot right on infantry and they don’t die. Situations like that happened very rarely before, and now it’s in every game?
Has something changed or is it just a serie of bad luck?

it’s always been like this, successful shots are the exception, not the regular damage. Even in the game files, it’s stated that the tank’s explosives are weakened compared to what they should be

Some tanks have issues, where shooting the ground underneath the enemy infantry will make your shot bounce off the ground, causing the explosion to fail.
Now I dont know how much projectile angle effects KV2 specifically, but I bet this is what you are experiencing - also some surfaces, for whatever reason will complete “eat” the blast from explosions - shooting tank wreckages for example can make your HE “disappear”
Now obviously this is much less of an issue with rapid reload vehicles like Panzer III N where a fail HE can simply be re-shot, but some shots of your KV2 “disappearing” will be something you have to live with. Its the curse of Enlisteds damage system.
Alright, the damage and fragment spread of aerial bombs and high-explosive rounds have been reworked, now following a funnel-shaped pattern.
As a result, if your shell hits staircases or stone steps, or an aerial bomb lands on the ground while enemies are prone, they can completely avoid the damage. I once drove a Panzer IV in the Tunisia map and fired downwards at a 75-degree angle. Only three out of ten infantrymen were taken out, and I had to fire three more rounds to eliminate all of them. It’s really frustrating, especially for tanks with a long reload time.
Thankfully it’s at BR 3; at least ricochets aren’t common on the Moscow map. Still, it’s ridiculous that HE rounds can bounce off concrete surfaces right now.
It’s just the physics of the shells and how they interact with the environment, it makes the long reload tanks practically worse since half the shells get sent to the Backrooms
Which is weird - KV2 can survive multiple direct penetrations from tanks that normally kill other tanks in one or two shots.
Why make its survivability artificially stronger but nerf its HE? Why not stick to what made the tank actually special - a big boom nuke canon, but being a massively oversized target…
Some players are complaining that this is supposed to be an infantry-focused game, yet tanks are far too overpowered. A single shell can take out huge numbers of foot soldiers with ease, making the game unplayable for infantry mains.
That’s indeed the case. Even a KV-1 can rack up 147 kills if no one can take it down. This is largely down to the current meta. Looking through game logs, I noticed most players don’t have proper gear, and hardly anyone carries Panzerfausts. Equipment meant for BR 1 and BR 3 often appears in the same matches.
Players are wildly unequipped, so the well-balanced gameplay has been compromised to accommodate them. This has turned many realistic mechanics unrealistic. A typical example is how even low-power high-explosive rounds now ricochet. It’s gotten to the point where infantry can charge straight at tanks in urban combat.
