I just unlocked this earlier, but I haven’t used it, Is this gun any good for Axis in Berlin?

Probably a preference thing. I rather like it, But not as an submachine gun.
I think they mentioned its getting converted to Semi Auto rifle (meaning riflemen class) which will make it much more interesting.

God, no!!! This weapon kills the infantry’s assault potential, and is worse in efficiency than a conventional rifle… Stay with mp 35, seriously, ahead of fg 42, save the silver on it!

In my opinion.
Its ok. Would be better as a rifleman weapon.
PERSONALLY, I really like it. I’m really glad they are going to bring it to riflemen as I will definitely be using it for mid-tier games.
It takes a little bit to get used to, but is definitely good for knockdown power and accuracy over other “SMGs”.
For a while I used the 2 primary weapons on my assaulters and equipped them with these and shotguns and both I and my bots did VERY well (make sure to have the reload perk!)

i’ll start by saying that it’s my favorite gun.
therefore, slighlty bias incoming. sorry not sorry, but
the vg 1-5 when the merge will drop might be usable. especially if what @Bigote0070 said, is right/coming. where majority of rifleman will be able to use it.
the vg 1 -5 it’s a great weapon from close to mid ranges.
where it lacks fire rate ( as it’s not a machinegun ) you can make up with more bullets shooting through the enemys way.
the vg it self is not extramely good. in order to be slighlty better, you need them to be fully upgraded, all 5 stars.
and speaking of, i have to recognize vgs are not cheap to upgrade.
but, it’s up to you.
it is somewhat okey if you can land headshots consistently. otherwise, your enemies will kill you faster.
i reccomend running with at least one squad or few soldiers. it becomes definitely great in tunisia, normandy and somewhat already is, in berlin.
more for defensive squads.

VG 1-5
Pros: its a gun, any gun is enough to kill bots. 30 magazine which is large for carbines.
Cons: its a semi-auto carbine for assaulters. Low effective range, low damage and poor performance in close combat against players since most deploy Pps42, Pphs41 (usually stick mag variant) or SVT40.
You can test the weapon since you got one for free, but I can’t say that it would do anything better than Mp40.

This is so frustrating, it’s an excellent weapon if the Rifleman can use it, but the Assault… well, I’d much rather use a SMG than a semi-automatic rifle
