It’s been like that for a long time, it’s easy to repeat. You have to stick a fighter in a squad (with a minimum number of people in the squad), and then choose him at the academy, you will be offered to replace him in that squad. You agree and one of the reserve soldiers will go to that squad without changing his uniform.
well, i had the doubt of this ““theory”” ( bug ), but i wasn’t sure as it was not consistent.
but i guess i’ll keep them like they are for now.

Why do you take the minimal number of soldiers for every squad
because i sacrificed them all for having the max ammount of stars as possible.
personally speaking, i don’t really mind having more soldiers, or less, because they all end up dying.
plus, the lower the number is, the more faster and more respawn available i have.
during invasions, spawning with more soldiers drains tickets quite faster. and for the reason that the majorty of time, my bots do not survive, it’s just wasted man power. something that potentially other people will use and can benefict. or, on the other hand, more respawn for me if i die quickly.
another reasons that i can think of,
i don’t have enough soldiers because i trade them all xd.
bad rng screwed my 4/5 stars ( since some are snipers, other pilots, tankers of any other less used class such as flamer ).
it’s a bit handlier. and i can still be effective.
not to brag, but despite having less number, i still get on the leaderboard.
i guess i’m glad to be effective with just a few stuff.
