yesterday I saw my squad mates use a bridge, exposing them to enemy fire instead of following me through a small river, hidden by a house. After that another squad who wanted to use another bridge (I guess) entered the dark zone and pathetically died there.
Is that expected AI behaviour ? Or is there any chance to get a fix ?
The pathfinding is questionable at best.
Its known, but yet to be decently fixed.
yea if they made it so ai can understand why we go the water way it would be amazing
Yes they avoid water and valting
wonder if you would want getting your boots wet, huh???
Personal favorite of mine is if they get in the water they chill in the same spot staying afloat until shot, or they’ll dive under and drown
Yes the avoid water like some scared cats. They will even go in greyzone and die to avoid water.
Yes this is a problem
I can’t remember the map name but it’s the one with the castle and river in front. If you cross the river to north at the edge of the map, your squad will continue into the gray zone and die.
AI staying out of the gray zone should be pretty basic.
Normally my AI don’t even wanna climb a window. They do a victory lap of the whole building everyone to see and then enter through the main door like a baws.
On the battle of the bulge map the other day where you attack the train station as the last objective, and the zone is in the basement, every time I entered the building (first floor) to engage the enemies coming in the back (train tracks), my squad acted as if all of those sets of double doors on the front of the building - some already open, some not - were a solid wall. Twice they started to go all the way around the rear (track side!), getting shot up in the process, and once they proceeded to the far end of the building and down that front basement stairwell.
Monastery, one of my favorite maps. It’s in Moscow.
