Instead of BR do Ranks - or why are they there?

Ok Generals play generals
colonels play down to captain
All the rest can enjoy a competitive even game .
really simple less logistics
playing a BR III game against 10 Generals at a rank of LT or 2nd LT is not enjoyable or attainable. It is just a run over that lowers the quality of any battle to frustrating and boring and not feasible.

ok brb, I’ll just desert some matches until I get demoted and I can seal club again…

But jokes aside, skill based matchmaking is certainly a valid solution to the current problem. I just don’t think that ranks are properly measuring skill, it just measures who is playing a lot.
And personally I don’t want to be forced to play with end game gear just because I played a bit too much for a few days.

The ranks mean even less than BR’s do. Even a 9 year old can achieve General if he dedicates enough time in a Battle Pass. That’s literally all it signifies. How much have you played the current BP

Player rank matching doesn’t work where you have multiple tree lines to unlock.

You would have to keep track of a player rank for every nation you play - incl any statistics etc… Might be a pain in the ass resource wise on the server to track 4 instances of overall player progression and allocate appropriate rank rewards for that.

I think atm Player rank is just a meme to show how often someone actually logs in, and Gaijin rewards them for it. It has no bearing on the game itself.

Ranks really don’t mean anything in Enlisted, about halfway through a season and especially at the end almost everyone is past 3/4th of the ranks or close to it. That and I’ve played with quite a few players that were higher ranks than me and absolutely brain dead. Also not to mention it’s easy to derank yourself if you want to with desertions or intentionally doing awful at a match to lose.

I think they use the rank system to incentivise players to keep earning the rank points, which incidentally also cover the desertion aspect as it severely de-levels your ranking. At the end of the season if you get a high rank you get a piniata full of goodies.

True, it is nice getting a lot of silver after the season ends. At rank 120 something and not really much incentive to keep going reward wise. Also of note deserting barely affects your rank, can pretty much earn it back after one match if you preform well enough.

Unfortunatley you sound like the 10% General that is just playing. You have to admit 235 kills to a General and 20 to every other rank (just an example) in a gameis drastically unbalanced and when you have 8 of those to one or none its just boring and not very gaming like its a self esteem issue for steamrollers.
I do get what your saying but better players should play high battle ratings and lower players lower battle rating
